Time lapse won't change anything. Sunrise has to hire competent writers, artists, animators etc... and GO BACK TO THE FUNDAMENTALS. You cannot have a massive franchise as Gundam survive only on the shoulders of a bunch of greybeards. If they continue to be deluded the answer is crystal clear.

He's right though. Zeta is shit. It serves no fucking purpose at all (and opened the gate to the thousands of 2 man zeon uprisings that have beleaguered the franchise for the last 30 years). But hey nobody ever said japanese cucks were intelligent.

There's actually something pretty funny here. They wanted to get Nagai to do a Gundam back at the start of this project but they had to wait until he was done with A Certain Scientific Railgun. Nagai picked up a bad reputation because of that show among fans, with the terms Cloverfield and Nagai Space appearing in reference to his shortcomings as a director. They then announce that he's doing Gundam after this, using his involvement as a means to promote the show.

First half is pretty much everything people complain about in Nagai's works. While ultimately successful, IBO suffered from poor ratings and at one point director Ogawa went on twitter to tell viewers the show picks up towards the end of season one. Season two appears to be attempting to deal with complaints lodged at the lackluster first season, as well as changing their strategy with the gunpla (notice the lack of variants this year?).

So, they picked a controversial director, have him do his thing, first season ends up being not terribly popular and the second season has to fix the mess. And people still believe the show is getting a S3.

I would like Sunrise stop making new gundam show for a year. And Bandai focus on releasing new model kit for old design but haven't has any model kit yet. The reason while there are a lot of p-bandai is because Bandai thinks these unpopular design won't make enough profit as current air show's.
Man, a revive Virsago and Leopard would be nice. But it's not gonna happend anytime soon with all the graze, barbatos variant.
