What are some good mecha games? I have over 24 different consoles, and my toaster can still run modern games at atleast medium, so platform isnt an issue
I currently have
>Steel Battalion
>Robotech Battlecry
>Robotrek (Never realized how similar these names are)
>Virtual-On (Saturn version. Want the Dreamcast version)
>Mechwarrior 2 (Saturn)
>Gundam Battle Assault 2
>Zone of the Enders HD
>Titanfall
>Titanfall 2
Hows Armored Core? Any mech games on the PSP or Vita?
I do want to pick up Bulk Slash for the Saturn eventually.

>PSP
AC3, AC3SL and AC:LR are also available on PSP.
There's also AC:Formula Front and Carnage Heart EXA, if you like to be less hands-on with your /m/.
Besides that, there's the usual assortment of Gundam games, most of which are in moonrunes. IIRC, they even tried to fit senjō no kizuna (the arcade pod game) on there.
>>15164752
Someone used to have a /m/ approved video game chart.
>>15164927
I have a good one and the other one.

Dumping my personals:
>Heavy Gear 2
>Federation vs Zeon
>Gundam Crossfire
>Front Mission TBS series
>AC 2-VD (skip V)
>Mechwarrior 3-Living Legends
>Power DOLLs
>Shogo
>Fallout 4 (aka. east coast power armor ride simulator (ignore the plot completely))
>XCOM (EW for amputee mechas goodness, 2 for power armor porns)
>Crysis series
>MSG Rise from the Ashes
>>15164962
>>15164752
>Armored Core
I don't know about the newer ones, but AC3 and AC: Silent Line are great. You can transfer your data from 3 to SL too.

Also here's the steps to mostly fix Heavy Gear 2 on modern systems. I don't know how to get HG1 running though.
0. Install Heavy Gear 2.
1. Install the Application Compatibility toolkit (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=7352)
2. Open the 32-bit Compatibility Administrator app that comes with the toolkit.
3. On the left pane, under Custom Databases, click on New Database 1.
4. On the taskbar at the top, click on Database > Create New > Application Fix.
5. Enter the name of your fix, the vendor, and under Program File Location browse to your Heavy Gear 2.exe. Click Next.
6. Click Next again. We don't want to install any existing compatibility modes.
7. Now, under Compatibility Fixes, scroll down and tick the box next to DirectXTrimTextureFormats.
8. You can do a Test Run to make sure it works or just click Next.
9. Click Finish.
10. Now right-click New Database 1 on the left and click Install.
11. You should see a confirmation message and you can close the Compatibility Administrator.
Game will still occasionally crash at the end of missions though. I think this was from a GOG post.

G Gen Overworld is getting a translation at least.
1.R.A.D (Robot Alchemic Drive)
2.E.D.F (Earth Defense Force)
3.Gundam Extreme VS
4.Xenoblade Chronicles X
5.Gundam Battle Universe
6.Armored Core (Try FF, LR, 4 & 4A, V if you don't like the Originals)
7.A.C.E (Another Century Episode)
8.Metal Gear Rising Revengence
11.Ace Combat if you're into planes

There was once a game called sdgo. Despite all its flaws it was pretty fun.

I'm actually looking forward to the new one. Going to get a VR headset and a HOTAS controller just for that game
Brigador, my man.
>>15164752
well assuming you have a PS4, Super Robot Wars V is coming out towards the end of the month, so that'd be a good one to get into
Great Battle III is a fun little Golden Axe-ish fantasy beat-em-up with Ultraman, Gundam, and Kamen Rider.
A wizard Baltan turns you into a Haro.

You got a 360? A more updated version of the Dreamcast Virtual On is available on the domestic xbox live marketplace.

>>15179519
Don't worry, the actual game itself will be in Epic Scale.
Talk is of a Plastic Starter box, with 10 Titans (One Maniple each side, 1 Warlord, 2 Reaver and 2 Warhound.)

Do the components exist to set up a PC like the Steel Battalion control to play the non existent mech simulator that it would be perfect for?
>>15185256
No.
However, if you're one of the lucky ones to own one, it can be connected to a PC just like any other peripheral.
What mecha game has the best boosting? I tried making a thread about it but it got deleted. I think? Maybe it didn't.
If you've never tried it, you might like Robot Alchemic Drive, it's got a cool slow mecha style where everything is remote controlled.
>>15185732
free gay boosting or hard gay boosting
>>15164752
Ring of Red
Earth Defense Force has mecha, right? Any good starting points?
>>15185477
I haven't looked into it in probably ten years, but I was under the impression that it took a bit of effort to make it work, like you needed a Xbox to USB adaptor or you cannibalized a connector and needed some drivers from the online or something.
>>15189813
The newest one because it's a game you either CO-OP or might as well not play at all.
>>15189847
I've done it a few times; I don't do it often because it takes up so much space, but you do need the drivers, which should be around online and you do need one of those xbox to usb connectors, but they're pretty cheap.
It's not as easy as plugging it in and playing, but it's not hard to do either.

Cool, thanks for the info. I knew it was more than the USB-era controllers like the 360 wired where you just stuck it in the computer and poof it worked or whatever.
I wonder how well the SB controller could work with WoW. Like, joy-to-key the buttons to macros and stuff or something.
>>15185732
AC4A has the best boosting. Specially since you have the choice of sacrificing combat options for extra boost units.
