Film has a LOT of focus on the Dinobots. they have more screen

Would have made for a much shittier movie to have to stare at Optimus being fucking dead the whole rest of the movie.

Instead we got to watch dinosaur robots do robot dinosaur things. Which was awesome.

In the cartoon, Dino mode was their stronger mode, the comics balanced it, and since the movie was a murder fest, their Dino modes were the only choice there.
