Well, yes. You actually have a lot of team flexibility in @3 because of it. Also, turn 6 is pretty normal. @3 has "time-waster" stages where you're just flat-out not allowed to beat them on turn 3 or 4, and that stage was one of them.

I think it really depends on how they handle stat boosts - given the skills that are in V, a lot of characters don't really benefit from grabbing every single one of them even ignoring skills like Hit & Away on non-Snipers.

And if you look at it a different way - in PP games, you end up funneling most of your PP into a handful of your best units anyway. At least this way, buying skills for support characters isn't like pulling teeth.

I suppose some motivation for spreading out your upgrades rather than piling them would be nice, but I wouldn't know where to begin.

The only SP I needed to use for that was 20 for Strike, and even then I would have still killed about five Battas with the 30% or so hit rate that Masato had. I didn't need to cast the two Yells I did, because getting hit and oneshotting Battas on counterattack would have filled me up by the time I was in position. Great Zeorymer was never in any danger, because they're fucking Battas, even standard Zeorymer would have been fine. I didn't need Infernal Hades to be P, because I had maxed will when I got into a good position.

The act of getting into position requires Zeal in the first place, or Enable. V's MAPS are most likely going to be things like the ZZ's Hi-Mega Cannon, Nadisico's Gravity Blast, the Yamato's gun, probably one of ZERO's stronger attacks, and the 00 Quanta's assembled sword, one-shotting people with them isn't going to be too hard. The only SP you'd need is Strike, which is pennies when you regen 10 SP a turn, and it's not hard to figure out what units the enemies are focusing on most so you can use them to line things up.

The thing that broke the system in Z3 was that you could categorically defeat every stage in 1 turn through use of either powerful ALLs or powerful P MAPs, which would automatically make enough points that you could get an extra turn, and you could bankroll this with the Tension Raiser to generally just allow your one unit to take out the entire map. We all know how this works, that complaint about Orguss sweeping the whole game along with shit like Chen soloing with Chirico in single turns, TE Spoiler Guy soloing with Kallen in single turns, etc. etc.

ALLS AREN'T IN V. This should be obvious, but it restricts the potential targets to those with MAPs. And even if it didn't, getting a full extra turn costs 3 points now, so you'd need to use MAPs anyway because Alls can only kill two things at once. Right. But unless the Map is P... you still aren't doing jack fucking shit. On Turn 1, you can't immediately walk up to the enemy and hit them with a big MAP because you can't do it post movement and enemies rarely start in MAP range. Even assuming you Zeal to them, it'll take too much SP to get you in range of MAP and then fire the map afterwards thanks to no item to give you points immediately that we know of. So no turn 1 kill everything, you need a turn to get in MAP range.

Turn 2 might see enough enemies gathered into your range to fire the Map, and might see them all die. Alright. You get the three kills needed. Now what? You get one extra turn, but you can't Map again, because there's nothing left, you already fucking killed them. So you need to move with your new extra turn, and then stop. You could fire another Map... with a Zeal cast. But even if you do that, and get another turn, you'll need another Zeal cast to get into map position/kill all the enemies. Eventually, you will run out of SP, at which point the whole formation just flat out dies.

It being the DK or not isn't the problem here.
The thing is Might Gaine's animator somehow can't animate the mech actually slashing things.
In the first PV, after the first slash, the pose is literally the same one when drawing the sword. And then after that, they let the sprite stay still, move the camera sideways, and call it a "slash".
This PV, all of the animation up until MG fall to the ground looks awesome, and then they leave it with a pose that looks like he didn't even fall down from a height and just like standing there holding the sword from the start.
