I absolutely loved how the Voyager simply carved a swath through the Delta Quadrant on its path home more often than take a pacifist role like they originally wanted to, the galaxy be damned. It was episodes like Seven of Nine's Tom and Jerry sketch with Captain Braxton across time and space that made me laugh at the absurdity that Voyager offered and enjoy the show as it was.

Harry Kim died when the ship duplicated and one exploded? We'll just replace him with the duplicate from the other ship.

Need to infiltrate Borg dreams? We'll just become drones, no prob. Doc can fix us up afterwards, it's fiiiine.

Aliens that don't understand our tech have rigged the entire ship with holoemitters? We'll just recruit an anachronistic holo-army and take the ship back.

Q wants to hold a trial for a renegade Q that wants to die? Just summon fucking anyone to the trial, who cares, we're here all day. Oh hi, Riker, how you doing?

It's like the show is a massive parody of Trek, and the more it tries to take itself seriously, the better the parody becomes. Even the "Mirror, Mirror" episode was largely just a regular Voyager episode, except the ship had more guns and everyone said hi by punching each other and spending time in the torture chamber. I used to unironically love it, then ironically, then unironically again. Voyager's great.
>>

>Star Trek always takes place on the same ship with an alien of the week visiting, sometimes they beam down somewhere
>DS9 always takes place on the same space station with an alien of the week visiting, sometimes they get on a ship and beam down somewhere

It's essentially the same shit

That and the laughably terrible space battles. So fucking bad.

Sisko isn't doing bad physically, but mentally he's off with the Prophets.
>>

Other way around, they wiped Janeway's memory and sent her back in time to that women's prison as punishment for all her crimes.
>>

>>15098093
Stewart also played older roles for much of his life, like Christopher Lloyd, so when they age closer to the range they play it's nowhere near as noticable.

This, people who claim 'HURR it's a station no Trek to it' either haven't seen it, or are completely braindead.

They go plenty of places and yeah while there are station centric episodes, there were plenty of TNG, and TOS episodes mostly focused on the ship, which is like your point, the same shit as well.

I mean it being station focused does lead to a few differences but it leads to interesting moments, and doesn't lessen the trek aspect and doesn't really change it much until the War ramps up later on. (Which is where the show gets better and there' still plenty of away missioning)

after too much spacetime bullshit Janeway loses her footing in reality as we know it

then the wormhole aliens try to dabble in fixing linear causation like the Sisko taught them but they sorta miss and they make Winn Adami.

The problem with Voyager was that it was boring. Jeri Taylor's baby didn't have any fans, so they decided to SPICE IT UP and went completely off the rails.

It's worth noting that they had a very hard "no consequences" rule. Rick Berman hated the arcs of DS9 and wanted a TOS/TNG reset button so that viewers wouldn't have to watch every single episode. Year of Hell was originally Season 4's entire arc, but Berman shit all over it and said no. It's still one of the greatest episodes of Trek and I believe (could be wrong on this) that it indirectly inspired RDM's reimagining of Battlestar Galactica.

Year of Hell is great. But if it were a whole season? That would be hell.
>>
>>15095596
Why couldn't they just make or buy more photon torpedoes? Or scavenge them? Literally the only thing they need is a shell and antimatter, and they destroy enough ships to just mine antimatter from the wrecks.
>>
>>15098523
Antimatter is rather difficult to contain. If a ship were destroyed, antimatter would probably be the least likely thing to be left.
