What benefit does making a tank an even bigger target with more

Giant robots are fucking stupid in any sort of real battle. Stop arbitrarily deciding you're going to realize that one aspects of this concept is dumb when in fact the whole ordeal is stupid.

I'm guessing the top one is for gunnery or navigation, or that guy that triggers death flags.

Doesn't the Guncannon use the Core Block System? It can detach it's top section and serve as stationary artillery, as well as utilize it's Core Fighter in the event that the caterpillars are damaged. Also, I guess looking like an MS could count as psychological warfare?

Yeah, the Guntank had a gunner and a pilot. The gunner was in the head, while the pilot was in the torso.
