I literally can't name a single character from Demonbane. I have been on /m/ for years, and I know nothing about the story other than it apparently uses Lovecraftian naming schemes.

As far as /m/ is concerned, the entire topic of Demonbane begins and ends with screaming "Demonbane is stronger than that!" at everything. No one cares about Demonbane beyond using it as weak trolling material. Sorta like Ginguiser.

I am outright admitting that I have never read Demonbane. The entire point of my post is that, as someone who only knows Demonbane as a result of discussion on /m/, I know NOTHING about Demonbane other than that it is supposedly stronger than everything else.

Demonbane only gets posted to throw powerlevels around. No one seems to know anything about it beyond that. No one talks about Demonbane's plot of characters, just its powerlevels. It only ever gets brought up on /m/ to wank about the mecha's final form, and NEVER to discuss literally any other aspect of the story.

When the games were released officially in the West a few years ago it did actually generate a fair bit of discussion for several months, including people posting translations of side material and talking about characters, arcs, setting etc. It doesn't get that anymore, but most finished shows don't, because discussion tends to be more active when there's new things. I've never played, read or watched Demonbane, but I know a couple of characters through osmosis, like Al, Nyarlathotep and Dr. West and can picture a few of the mechs from screen shots.l posted in threads. If you can't then you probably just didn't view those threads. That's hardly the fault of the property though.
