When the body was dying they were attempting to escape in order to separate, survive, and reappropriate. As shown in the movie when put under duress this Godzilla goes through evolution, these small bodies growing and attempting to escape show this.

Yes and no. It's been a couple of months since I've seen the film so I don't remember the exact dialogue, but earlier in the movie they were talking about Godzilla evolving as he moved further and further inland. These were going to be the winged forms they talked about.

The only thing I really hate about the Pacific Rim kaiju is they virtually all have those glowy tribal tattoos on them. It looks a little too western-fantasy to me and I wish they kept it to just one kaiju.

It;s actually more akin to Demonology as the Wayne Barlowe did the Kaiju design for Pacific Rim. Look up his Demonology book and his ET book and you can see some of the motifs he always calls on to add surface marks on his figures.

The "glowy tattoos" are a neciessity so that the monsters otherwise uniform gray, busy, silhouettes are actually distinguishable in the dark rainy action scenes. The jaegers dont need anything like that, for the most part, since they're fairly brightly coloured, with contrasting design elements and easily distinguishable silhouettes

Well to be fair, Shin was a new organism adapting to life on land in general and hasn't been around for thousands of years like bearzilla has.
His new beam also drained a lot from him, so the humans were able to get days of planning and preparation done to fuck 'em up, the military in bearzilla's movie were constantly on the move having to deal with MUTO's shit.

Given enough time (and bigger arms) I think shin would be an excellent contender against G14.
