Some really interesting info here.

*Mazinger Z vs The Great General of Darkness movie was shown 2 months before the final episode.

*In the movie, Mazinger Z gets torn to shreds because the producers got tired of hearing people say that Mazinger can never be damaged.

*The transition from Mazinger to Great Mazinger was rare for anime back then. Most people were saying why not continue with Mazinger Z instead of having the transition? But Nagai believed in passing the torch to the next generation.

*There was a Mazinger Club in TV Magazine which you could apply membership for. In return, you had a card with the silhouette of Great Mazinger, and this was surprising because that was 6 months before Great's official debut.

There will be a Mazinger project for next year since it will be Nagai's career 50th anniversary. I assume he was referring to the Mazinger animation movie that's coming out next year.

It will be announced by the end of the year, so I guess in 2-3 weeks from today.

I have bad news for you. It's Toei.

Which means it will probably be a remake movie.

Heck, we even have early images of the teaser trailer (shown at mipcom) and it's cell shaded cg.

Since it's Toei animation CG, it should probably be at least all right. Majin Bone-tier would be the best case scenario.

If Toei's bringing their A-game, the CG itself shouldn't be that bad. Both Harlock and the Saint Seiya movie were lookers, even though story wise they didn't hit up to to snuff.

It's not full cg so I doubt it.

It will be a mix of 2d and 3d and those rarely work well.

For a video game producer, Terada seems to have the most enjoyable time doing it. He gets to hang out with big name voice actors, talk about new toys, talk about new toys, mecha anime, and SRW with big name voice actors, etc. Of course, none of those things really have anything to do with video game development, but still.
