Diebuster is pretty much what TTGL would be if it was exactly as bad as the /m/ and /a/ hipsters claim it to be. It feels like a failed prototype.

I rewatched it a while ago and enjoyed it, I think people spend too much time comparing it to Gunbuster and hate it instead of treating it as it's own thing

Diebuster is better than Gunbuster. I am dead fucking serious.

It actually knows what kind of story it wants to tell and does so coherently as opposed to rapidly changing in every episode. /m/ hates it because it's not muh gunbuster and because it has cute girls so it's moe cancer killing anime (Gunbuster also has cute girls but it's from the 80s so it doesn't count).
