Suggest mecha anime that has cozy vibes and a good story like the original Macross.

Great show.
Giant Gorg. Indescribably comfy even when you're watching Gorg punch the shit out of things.

Macross is a copy of 0079 with cancer, garbage and idols.
Misa is a copy of Sayla
Minmay is a copy of Fraw Bow
In short, Kawamori is a huge copypasta from Tomino's work, all he did was to add cancer, garbage and idols.

Not sure what this is supposed to mean, but if you liked SDFM, you'd probably enjoy Gundam 0079 which has a similar space opera feel. The Zeta Gundam sequel series is also similar and continues the story from 0079. Turn-A Gundam is great, too, and it doesn't require watching the other shows. The story is smartly written for a childrens' show, the characters are likeable, and the setting is enthralling.
Getting away from Gundam, Outlaw Star is big interstellar sci-fi adventure if you haven't seen it. Although their is some mecha aspects that run through the show, it's not as prominent, but it is still action-packed regardless. Escaflowne also has a story with a grand scope and does fantasy mecha better than any other show.
Unrelated, I recommend that you continue with the Macross franchise. The other shows don't really do the space opera thing as well as SDF did, but some of the entries are still worth watching.

Goddamit now I have to fap to Angel Blade brb.
>>15017756
But, you must admit it was pretty good.
>>15017756
What? It was definitely inspired by Gundam but it's more a matter of aesthetics and outlook. In the same way Gundam was inspired by Star Wars without having any other than the most superficial elements borrowed from it.
None of these things you said are anywhere close to the truth.
Both Gundam and Macross have more in common with classical space opera than they have in common with each other.
Think of a better bait.

Does anyone have a good stream or torrent of Do You Remember Love? I keep finding torrents that get near the end and just die because it's not seeded.

Gundam 0079. SDF has undeniably been heavily inspired by 0079 but it is inferior to its inspiration. 0079 gives off a better message about the importance of family while showing us robots fighting each other. Better MC, better villain, better supporting cast, literally the only thing Macross has on Gundam is planes and better music. Hell, the animation is better and more consistent in 0079. Macross suffers greatly from major jumps and falls in quality.

How's Vifam in this regard?
We don't need a my show's better than your show thread.

>0079 gives off a better message about the importance of family
Of all the themes in 0079, that is what you got out of it? If anything, 0079 is about how shitty family members can be:
-Amuro has abandonment issues with both is mother and father.
-Char and Sayla are fighting a war on different sides
-Zabi family are all basically back stabbers.
