All this talk of Lancer and Lancer Artoria Alter makes me wonder what F/SN would have been like with either of them supplanting Saber Artoria.

I mean, I imagine that Taiga would have probably believed her right off the bat if she said she was an associate of Kiritsugu's, but beyond that and some boob jokes at her expense, I'd have no idea how that would go down overall.

Servant classes would probably get shuffled around a fair bit, though. We might get Berserker Cu to make up for the fact that Artoria would now be Lancer class, Archer Heracles since Cu would be a Berserker here, and Rin would luck out and get her wish of summoning a Saber for the Fifth Holy Grail War... but it's still EMIYA that she summons.

Caster and both Fake and True Assassins would probably remain unchanged, though.

The Celtic sword it was based on, Caladbolg, really did shoot lasers that blew up mountains - even Cú Chullain was afraid of it and believed that he would surely die if he had to face it. I'm not sure how many Arthurian legends carried over that trait, though.

That's true even in F/SN though, where the scabbard passively regenerates the bearer's body and soul, allowing them to push themselves beyond human limits at zero cost, and can also be activated to create a barrier that renders the bearer completely invincible, even to attacks that normally cannot be blocked by any means.
