That point is completely moot now. Even on the Agito website in 2001 where it was asked about the discrepancy in the dates, Shirakura said "it's up to each viewer to believe it is or isn't a sequel". Shirakura is also the guy who has been constantly bringing back all the Riders where the descriptions go out of their way to say it is the original guys. Arakawa himself wrote the Kuuga novel which took place in the present day and was approved of by Takatara. On top of that we have things like Kuuga showing up in Fourze and Wizard's tv shows. Hell even the latter of which had Godai Kuuga using Rising Ultimate, which made no sense, but Takatera himself on twitter said Godai should be able to achieve it.

In an age where all the Riders take place in the same world despite major contradictions for sake of convenience, it's pointless the have this kind of argument.

it was a 2004 anime opening, seriously, total anime drama from 2004.

As much as we all love Blade, we have to accept that, when you get right down to it, Blade was not a very good show. In what way? It's a dumb, impulsive thing to say and the show treats it exactly as such. It also highlights the differences in motivations between all the Riders.
