Finished GP23. This is surprisingly more violent than Shinkenger. They sometimes show suit damage and blood which is Shinkenger does not show too much. Insane Hirakimedes is also not for kids. Then theres Kegalasia which is no way will be greenlighted in a western setting.

Go-Onger and ToQger have received fairly mixed reception, though. That's not to say their bad, but they're pretty marmite as far as sentai goes.

Episode 40 (12/03) is titled "Men's Aesthetics". Due to the title and the foreknowledge that it's written by Jin Tanaka, it's probably a filler episode.

They literally saved the show. From the pilot up to 12 it goes as a run-of-the mill sentai then from 13 to Hirakimedes it got good. It is hit or miss after that. Yogostein got killed way too easy. Fanservice episodes are gold though which i find ironic. Shinkenger has filler Christmas and New Year episodes but somehow Go-Onger got better filler episodes.

GP37 is ok in a serious way. Red's part can get annoying since you have to go out your way that he is entering another dimension but all there is to see is a flat green screen. GP38 is pretty fun. the characters seem to reach a flatline in this cause character development plateau'd already. Its pretty kinky too. Did the girls go out their way to see some [dick]?

The Santa episodes were sort of ok. The New Year episode should have gone full musical. Its pretty hilarious when they go out their way going full on absurd instead of half-absurd. Kegalasia getting punched out Team Rocket style is classic. Villains getting drunk is actually keeping the show from being a bore.

This may be a weird question, but is there a reason Bandai doesn't reuse the Japanese mold for Sentai toys when making the American Power Ranger toys? Like, why bother making a new version of something you already have, but making it smaller, shittier, and less show accurate?

And this isn't even always the case. I actually have both the Japanese Accellular from Boukenger and the American whatever it was called from Operation Overdrive, and they're almost identical in size and shape, the only difference is some minor details in the sculpt. But recently, the difference between the two version is baffling. Like the American version of the Gaburevolver is just embarrassing. It's so tiny and pitiful and you can't even spin it on your finger since it's missing the trigger ring.

I don't understand the logic. The only reason I can think of is budget, it's obviously cheaper to produce an inferior product, but even for little toys like the batteries, they go out of their way to remake a crappier version when they could have just reused the existing Japanese ones.

That's not how it works mate. Every team works of of the base color set of red, blue, yellow, pink, and green. If there is no green, another color fills the spot. If there is no pink, another color fills the spot. The spots correlate regardless of what colors actually fill them. If we had no red, but the team leader was blue, they'd be together in crossover material.

I don't make the rules, Toei does. If you're that ass blasted about it, send them an angry letter.

Go-Onger is done. As a series, it has its pitfalls. The aesthetic can use some refinement and they could have been less showy in a rollcall. Sudden breaks causes flatspots as race enthusiasts says. Overall it is an OK series with fun memorable villains and silly characters. Its non-plot related episodes are also memorable despite the silliness.

I'll watch Dekaranger next week before i return to HBO watching again.

Already watched episode 1. This has potential to beat Shinkenger in terms of execution of aesthetics. Even the wolf commander doesn't look funny since its so self-aware.DekaYellow can give ShinkenPink a tight battle in terms of good looking sentai heroine. Momoninger and Zyuoh Tiger both fill the "pink spot". Shironinger and Zyuoh Elephant both fill the "green spot". White isn't a normal color, so it can only fill the position of another color. If we had the same exact color combo next year, then we'd have colors matching up in crossovers.

Because their WAS a red. The example I gave was a hypothetical.If the day comes when we have a team WITHOUT a red (it'll never actually happen) and a blue to the place of the leader and main cast member, they would correlate to the red that came before them since they occupy the same spot.
