It's good in terms of characterization, plot, and presenting the ideology of the characters (Yang in particular) *sniff*.
Reinhard is boring character defined by 2/3 traits for most of the show, until he's confronted with the sins of the past fucks Hilde, and proposes
Most of his supporting cast trumps him.
On the other hand the FPA crew are well written.

One of my problems with the series is that it tries very hard to present itself as a kind of historical documentary. However, when the narrator makes snide remarks like "so-and-so would've been great if he were in a different era", it really takes away from that. It was entertaining to watch, but trying to portray itself as an educational documentary was definitely a miss.

LoGH is phenomenal, man. Sure there are some bits of filler and fluff in the show, but all around it does a great job of building a large, varied cast of characters and having the plot grow naturally.
