It didn't say or show anything like "revenge is awesome". It just had Vann take revenge. It was a thing he did, not something he took any huge pleasure or emotional satisfaction out of. It was satisfactory for the audience, and a culmination for Vann, but it's really more "revenge is a possible path" and possibly "sometimes revenge is necessary or good", but certainly not "revenge is awesome".

I don't think it was necessarily "awesome" what they were going for, but I do agree that it was nice that it went the way it did.

Shooting the machine and not Claw was brilliant, all Ray wanted to do was watch Clawman lose everything he worked for, everything Claw worked for went up in smoke with one bullet because he was a fucking asshole killing brides for no reason.
