Well, [Karma] has uploaded the BD versions using GG subs as well as a second track using the official retail version which has some more accurate translation. Although there is still no new raws out for the specials from vol 3 and 4 still.

Won't the DVDs and BDs have official English subs? My guess is that if/when they come out, the gg releases will just drop off the face of the earth and nobody will care anymore.

Modern fansubbing is just ripping or ripping-and-slightly-editing Crunchy subs. The only exception to that is toku and even then they've got some Ultraman now.
