Also new toys, i'm not sure if TB:S toys were available during season one but i never saw them, last time i was in toys'r'us it was the first unit i saw. Now my only excuse for not picking them all up is the unfeasible in scale TB:5

I've been a little surprised at the lack of discussion about it because I'm really enjoying it. The stories are a bit hit and miss naturally, being a kids show, but the work that has been put into the visuals really shows.

I actually like the redesigned ships a lot more than the originals, the more angular TB2 I am particularly partial to with its more industrial appearance, really sells its function. I was unconvinced by shadow initially because it seemed like it was just there to look cool, but since they finally started showing its abilities I'm sold. Bought the kit, it's pretty damn sexy.

I know, I could tell when I first saw it the designer must've been Japanese. But initially it didn't seem useful, and therefore was out of place. It's ability to land basically anywhere was what convinced me on its suitability. A little unrealistic, but cool and useful. Very Thunderbirds in my eyes.

Even the TB2 from the film is a gorgeous fat whale of cargo moving awesomeness.

The almost nonexistent VTOL jets on that design really bothered me considering how much they emphasized the size, why would they make it even less realistic than the original? Other than that I thought it looked a bit too clean. That's just my personal preference though. I just watched a clip and it's not too bad in motion.

Oh shit, has season 2 started already? I didn't even know.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed the first season. I thought it was just going to be a schlocky cash-in, but it manages to maintain the spirit of the original while at the same time modernizing it. The animation is gorgeous and the redesigned Thunderbirds look great.
