Armageddon was the best anime by far, and I liked the first Getter manga most overall

New. The action is spectacular, the pacing is blazing fast, and the music is excellent. The last episode is one of my all-time favorite /m/ episodes.

Go. Obvious answer I know, but it's awesome. The appearance of Shin Getter and all the crazy crap in the last chapter was great. Shin is a close second, just for the first appearance of Getter Emperor.

Again, Go. Namely the manga version with the sword and the giant revolver.

I haven't read Devolution yet, and I'm not too interested in it. From what I hear, there isn't much robot action yet.

Recently been reading through Getter Robo for the second time (just finished G, about to move on to Go), and the flip flop between the early art style and the later art style really bothered me, especially when Mechasaurs/Hyakki Beasts are shown. It's just jarring, y'know? One page has blocky lopsided robot monsters, and the next has crazy mechanical insect horrors with rounded metal carapaces.

So far it's been a re-imagining of the original getter story. I don't quite understand who the villains are yet, but it's not dinosaurs sadly. As for who is writing it, it's the Line Barrels of Iron guys.
