It is not any worse than a typical Go Nagai manga. The funny thing is if Go Nagai made a manga that was exactly the same as the Devilman movie, his army of dickriders would call it a work of genius. The backlash against the movie just shows how much higher the standards for movies are and manga is the only medium where Go Nagai's shit writing is accepted. It is to accept that liking Go Nagai is and has always been just an ironic meme.

It was bad because the actors, the cgi were bad. Ironic that the only good thing about this movie was the ending which they got right by adapting the manga.

I know you're a spic but the movie had no trace of any of Nagai. The plot is even different.

One of the best scene in the manga was the hippies. It's completely left out. It's beyond awful. It's a mystery why anno was left out of it. Honey wasn't his style and he would have made a pretty good Devilman movie. Maybe he saw who were they casting. They basically took boy models and then wonder why everyone thought the acting was atrocious. They never acted before.
