The idea of a realistic mecha is silly, not because of mecha but because the people who strive for realism lack creativity.

They're going for an aesthetic rather than function. Style that looks like function in a sense, but in truth fails at both. It's why Titanfall's designs are so atrocious.

Look at how artists in the 50s envisioned the 2000s and then compare it to reality. At first you might think the 50s sci fi artists were more imaginative, then you realize even something like the now humble F22 would have been impossible for them to imagine. That the rovers on Mars are beyond what they thought of.

Realism, in that sense, is trying to apply the now to the future when the future has made advances you can't even think of.

The anime designs are already as "realistic" as you get, they just need to be recolored. Real world military vehicles are designed to have large, continuous surfaces and relatively simple geometry. Kibbles and bits bullshit that American "artists" like to propose are the antithesis of realism.

I think some artists pull it off rather well.
I forgot the name of this guy,but he designed and also wrote iirc, an adaption of Mobile suit Gundam called "For the barrel".

Now obviously I won't argue that mecha can be realistic at all, but I think the aesthetic is pretty interesting and for a while can be a tiny bit believable if you just suspend all knowledge of science for a period of time.

3 actually, but it can be dodged easily due to their low rate of fire and clank as fuck. granted mobile suit aren't suppose to be tanky but to be very damn agile. Its a spaceplanes with legs anyway.

Most enemy MS and gun turrets can destroy in one hit from the back, unless its a Beam Spray Gun. Nobody is sure if that even does damage.

But really? Gun turrets need atleast 2 shot on the back to actually scrap my MS as my gameplay goes....

You are objectively wrong. Everything posted so far has shown a good example of drawing 3 dimensional objects with appropriate shading and light. Forget about scale, it could've been intentional to make the Dom huge.
