Is anyone interested in G Gen Genesis information? I've just came back from a games convention where the English version was on display but it was locked to 2 Unicorn missions when I played it so I can't really tell you whether your favourite super obscure MSV Zaku variant is in.

(When I came back later it seems like the rest of the missions was playable but I hogged the thing for like an hour at the start and didn't want to be even more rude)

Anyway I actually haven't been keeping up with the news for a while so I don't know what information has been released on the game already - I see that stuff like the Sub Flight System is back and that has apparently been revealed already so sorry if I repeat stuff that has been known.

I know some of the G Gens have Spirit Command-like abilities and it seems like in Genesis, instead of the Master unit, it's attached to your Battleship crew instead with each crew member getting 1 command that can be used on anyone.

Code Phoenix and his related characters are available characters to scout from the very beginning. Seems like the canon characters are locked at the start and there's an achievement like system to unlock other characters - things like "Shoot down a Warship with 3 units in a Group Attack" represented by one of the Black Tri-Stars members.

Oh, and I guess the most important part is - from what I've played, the English translation is shockingly not shit and I only noticed one minor typo - Angelo accidentally goes "You made made me fire!" at one point. That's it.

So yes, I guess that means only Gundam is big enough to get a translation that isn't "Such words, even I could" tier... or maybe that's just the part they cleaned up for display and the rest of the game is an abomination but that's what I saw.

That's most SRW games, right? You start doing any kind of analysis and you'll start punching holes in just about all of 'em.

The problem are plots that are just uninteresting, nonsensical or poorly paced. Like Z3's, for example.

A plot-lite SRW is a neat idea, though. I think OE was their try at it, but that sort of went off the rails so I'm not sure if they'll try again anytime soon.

What the hell does this means?

八武衆、修羅の兵法 (Hachibushuu, Shura no Heihou)

This is part of the title of Battle Commander, another game by Banpresto released on same day as SRW 2 (29/12/1991), but on diferent platforms (SFC/SNES for the former, FC/NES for the latter).

Besides the same series cast as 2, it also had War in the Pocket, Stardust Memory, Dragonar and L-Gaim way before SRW could put them to use.

SRW base power scaling is kinda bonkers anyway since it's a Attack - Defense formula rather than a multiplicative one - a 60% increase in base power doesn't usually translate to that much actual damage depending on how much defense/armor the enemy has

And if I wanted to see shit from the show happened, that means I get nothing. Which is why I play SRW. Because I want to see the shows crossed over. Not because I want to see some fucker in Japan doing whatever the hell they want to series I give a shit about.

There exists a 100 or so chapter fanfiction that is a fully complete SRW story on FF.net that basically does this. And it's not very good. And it does exactly what you're talking about.

Here's the thing. Shin SRW had a bunch of cool events and big things happen in it. The problem is that Shin SRW also did this at the exclusion of the everything else in the game, so while you'd get stages that were Master Asia and Domon fighting off Devil Army grunts on foot or similarly interesting things, you'd also get the vast majority of the stages being boring fucking slogs where you fight basically the same general enemies over and over again and nothing really feels accomplished for a long time.

Well, there's still the potential for something with Alfimi, though that's a vague concept and I still wonder how tricky she'd be to write for in comparison to the others. SRW smut seems to be a tricky beast to try for; it's been fun, though, and knowing someone's enjoying them is a nice bolster.

You can emulate it and speed it up.
Also a total of 92 stages compared to Impact's 101.
Other things to note is that the boss HP cap is 64000 and it runs on the Winky formula, so the HP bloat Impact suffers from isn't as noticeable as long as you upgrade our finishers (final boss' stats seen here, for example) and ESPECIALLY upgrade your mobility, not enough people learn Strike unless you manipulate the spirit system which requires you to use an Oswan version that works for nothing else but that, and you also need to edit the eeprom so that your MC's stats aren't horseshit.

I think I had uploaded my eeprom and savefiles but it's likely they expired.

For comparison, the epilogue boss' finisher is kind of fucking ass, I think the Funnels were something like 4800 power, and Char doesn't even had double action, so he's literally worse than a Regisseur, save for the annoying ass shield defense.
Regisseurs in Compact 2 are huge fucking cunts.
The only hard part about the epilogue stage is saving up your Encourages until your reinforcements appear, the mooks in the stage are no more difficult than the Gespensts the Einst used. I also didn't get Gato because fuck him, but he supposedly ALSO betrays you if you get him and make it to the epilogue.

And speaking of the epilogue, in Impact you would get the Elshank and I thiknk 5 other deployment slots, in Compact 2, it's just Rom, Dangaioh, Joe and Reni as your reinforcements (everyone else gets shoved in a bus heading to Sumeragi's sex dungeon).

Kinda depends on how hungry SP consumption is for the rest of the stage, if you ask me.

If you can do the whole stage saving up all your SP because the mooks are so unthreatening, then Valor is basically the only thing you can dump your SP into being that a lot of Spirits are defensive in nature.

DDS limits you to only 3 party members at best, and all of them can handle basic shit like using items and whatever.
Nocturne doesn't, it's just 4 to 1 depending on the demons you have, but unlike in DDS you can't easily adapt to new enemies by just switching mantra in between fights, or just run away without risking losing all your press turns until you know how to fight them.

Nocturne just forces you to grind to change your skillset from the Magatama, and again more grinding so you can fuse/recruit demons that are properly equipped for whatever area you're in (and don't say grinding isn't necessary, everyone knows you aren't gonna use Preta you got 10 minutes into the game all the way to the endgame, and those Magatama aren't gonna buy themselves), and trying to escape burns all your press turns.
And personal opinion, Hard mode TRIPLING shop prices is beyond gay, because more grinding is exactly what I needed!

But there's no need to go full retard like Persona's 1 More either, where you can just deny your enemies of any possible chance of attacking because lmao knock downs.

Just find some people you're comfortable with, I don't have many friends but I'm very close with all of them despite having little in common with each other, so I really don't feel lonely. Unless you want something more of a friend, that's another kind of loneliness you have only one way to get rid of, unless you're like me and you don't have problems having friends with benefits.

Unlike something like OG1/2 where there are really obvious OP skills to purchase first, Z1 is kinda different in that the skills are kinda niche that I wouldn't suggest "Build Orders" in broad categories - for example, some Supers hit the sort of "hard to kill" point where adding the Guard skill on top of it is basically overkill.

The only skill I think is generally all-round useful is Will Limit Break and mostly only in mid/late-game where the enemy density rises to make it useful.

Just use the units for a while and see what sort of "Man, I really wish I had X" situations you run into and buy the appropriate skill, like Will+(Evade) on Gainer/Renton (normally Will+ skills aren't THAT great, but I make an exception for these two guys) or Hit&Away for your snipers.

Incidentally - Attack Again is kind of a seductively "not that great" skill outside of a handful of characters that are built for it because the investment needed is just so high you might as well just pump the PP into raw attack stats.

Yeah, you get 6 actions per turn (Kyosuke, Excellen, Lune, Lamia, Masaki, Ibis) and Alfimi regens 13500 HP/turn so you'd have to make sure you could do as much or more on a counter. And then you'd need enough will on everyone involved in the attack for Attacker to activate, so...yeah.

You'd need Rampage Ghost+Cosmo Nova supported by Phantom Phoenix+Cross Smasher/RaMVs with 15 upgrades and Attacker on everybody with love bonuses for damage and I'm not sure if there's enough enemies to get everyone up to that level (it's possible to get your allies to spawn on like...EP2 or 3 if Excellen's positioned in such a way that she gets attacked and counterkills every Einst), even with High Spirits' +2 will/turn.

I'm sure some bloody-minded stubborn fool's done it, but whether they've recorded it is another story.

+2000 attack power, +50 will limit, +50 maximum SP.

Pretty much everything you fight from the Shinka stage onwards has over 3000 armor and shitloads of HP (something like 18600 minimum on the Angeloi Arcas), so the +2000 attack is meant to help you deal with that.
