I loved it right away.
Hated the art style but thought the show itself was breddy good. Actually glad I gave it a chance.

i always loved it, specially the katana wielding werewolf scenes.

I wouldn't call it awesome, but it's a well enough made show.

Go fuck yourself.

Finished it and enjoyed it. Are there any stories on what went on during the show's run, you know, plot ideas that never happened and different endings?

I wish they would show more of their world.

Id didnt hate it but I was indifferent to Big O as a kid mostly because of BTAS. When I watched it again when it came time for season 2 however I loved it.

When I started Heat Guy J I thought it was amazing, and wondered why it wasn't more well known. But as the show went on I found myself enjoying it less and less, gradually slipping until the finale where the whole show shat the bed. I don't think I hate it, but I've never had a show click with me so instantly, then slowly wrench itself away.
Some ironic history for those interested: Pioneer wanted Heat Guy to be the next big thing. They were so invested in it that they payed as much as Funimation did for FMA (which was not only already a proven success in Japan, but also had more episodes). As many of you can probably already figured Heat Guy J was a flop here and in Japan. Years later as Pioneer (now called Geneon) closed it's American distribution, Funimation bought up a bunch of it's old titles for practically nothing including Heat Guy J.

Hm i wached it in my 20s so i can't say much but i can definitely see how it takes adult sensibilities to really enjoy it.
Guy's constant remarks on what it means "to be a man" for example might come off preachy to a kid but sagely to and older audience.

Also agree that something slowly drained away from the show until the incoherent ending. I still own it and have enough residual hype to give me pause before selling it off, but I don't know if I'll ever rewatch.
