Weapons are not supposed to be pretty.

They would be better if all the weapons were retractable and instead of having legs or tracks, the ball just rolled around.

They go on about how amazing the armor is, and it fails to protect any of the weapons or propulsion system. There is no way these things would not end up mobility/mission killed by conventional forces.

Armor is not the most important part. Their armor can be destroyed. One nuke can make half of it unusable.

The problem is they are full of laser CIWS and railguns that are going to shoot down anything you throw their way. The only thing that can get through this are lasers and plasma cannons of other objects.

And yes, usually they target weapons and propulsion systems of the enemy because those are the weakest parts.
