RIP Gears Online
http://www.gearsonline.net/
Forums had been down for months so I guess it's not surprising.
Well shit, I was just on the site like a week ago. I guess all that's left is the wayback archive.

For shame

No one even uses the forums there, why are you surprised it got shut down?
I'm seriously thinking about making a new FSS online encyclopedia. Gears has some neat stuff but most of their information is sparse and out of date. Their FSS guide hasn't been touched in 10 years.

The forums had a guy that would upload every new chapter and a summary of what happened. It's a huge loss.

Huge loss or not, nobody ever replied in his threads, so he stopped because he thought nobody cared. And for the most part, most people really didn't care.

He had a new chapter out the same month it went down.

I'm fairly new to FSS and I was just wondering how much of it is translated? I heard only the first 10 volumes are
it's still up for me though?
I mean the forums have been down for a while now but the main site seems to still be working

Yeah, only the first 10 volumes have been translated so far, but the series is up volume 13 so far. The worst part is that we haven't had any post-2000 FSS material published in English yet. The FSS info provided by Gears Online is almost 20 years old and out of date.

Seems fine to me.
I didn't even know they had forums.
I like a lot of the art stored on the site.
