How come people always divide mecha into either super or real

How come people always divide mecha into either super or real when there are tons of stuff that are to far off from the standards to fit on either side, like Fantasy bots, Yuusha, Magical girl robot shows, racing robots, biological bots, and whatever the fuck Dai-Guard falls into.
Even though there's so many random subsets people always generalize that mecha is only Gundam, or TTGL.

You forget to mention that some titles even have both general "types" as well (e.g. Super Robot Wars OG). But yeah, arguments like that are the reason why I don't bother mentioning those two terms among friends at all.

Honestly I never use the term 'real robot', because it has no use.
Gundam is a mobile suit. A Scopedog is an AT. Dunbine is an Aura Battler Unit 01 is an Eva. Do you see where I am going with this? Franchises have their own names for certain classes of robots, we certainly don't need to come up with our own. That's stupid and redundant.

The term Super Robot still has worth as there are plenty of robots that don't have their own in-universe class/type, but I don't see that 'real robot' has any real purpose except to be less accurate.
