Yamato appreciation thread?
I recently started watching Yamato 2 and am seriously impressed with the writing and pacing. It's pretty much recycling series 1's story but making it way better.
The setups is done perfectly without relying on a bunch of explosions and how the crew reassemble over 4 episodes (Yamato doesn't take off until the 4th episode minus a scene in episode 1)
Why does it get no attention even with the recent remakes?
Also, try to keep your shitposting to a minimum

I found the second season a bore.

Why?

I barely remember it except for those new military guys being annoying and I actually being glad when their leader died. I also watched it after the second movie so I already knew most of the plot.

"I´m a super powerfull giant naked goddess, but as I´m a goddess, I can´t fight, so please people of Yamato, go fight and die for me!!"
(and she is powerfull enought to destroy the comet ALONE)FUCK YOU TERESA!!

It makes me sad that I can't Google for Yamato art without getting the waifu remake

It was really lazy how they couldn't think of a better ending than the movie. To be honest, there's way more sense of danger in the movie. It really sounded like the Yamato crew was screwed, they had no chance.

It makes me sad that remake don´t have pantsu fan service.

I like the TV ending more than the movie's ending
Yeah they managed to win but it was by no means a happy ending, a lot of the crew died, the earth and yamato were destroyed, and Teresa had to blow her self up to defeat the comet empire
However the impact is kind of lessened because in the next movie everything is back to normal basically, I kind of wish they showed more of Earth trying to rebuild and dealing with all the losses

To be fair these frames last like a split second

I'm not saying the movie ending was better or anything. Just that it was disappointing considering they had much more time to plan something better for the the TV version. And the movie Comet Empire felt more like a threat for me. I don't know, TV version seemed more like "Gamilus Strikes Back". Like they were just slightly more dangerous than their previous enemies. The movie made them look invincible and a impossible force to stop.

Gonna dump a translated side story of Yamato. The people who worked on the translation can't seem to leave Star Blazers in the past where it belongs, so the names were originally all localized. I made some shitty edits to restore the original proper names.

The story also appeared in a PS2 game of Yamato

Argo should be Yamato, somehow missed that page.

Everyone else sees a loved one, Yuki sees tentacles. Does Yuki desire tentacles?
