The PS4 Slim is the better choice, and of course it's "safe". I don't know what your gaming tastes might be but between Gundam Breaker 3, G Generation Genesis and Gundam Vs, (all with English Asian releases,) the PS4 has pretty much become the ultimate Gundam console.

You plug it into your PS4.

You start your game up, go into options, and turn the game's music volume all the way down. 99% of games allow for changing volume levels of individual shit like music/sfx/voices.

Then you go to the Media Player, select music, select what you want to listen to, then go back to your game and play.

If you want to switch songs on the fly you just hold the Playstation button at there's a little player right there for you to swap songs or pause/resume.

what are you even talking about

Custom soundtrack is nice because you can give your units whatever music you want them to have. It's the same thing as selecting from whatever is available in-game (something you can do in World and Overworld for custom characters but unfortunately have never been able to do so with regular characters) except you can choose literally anything you want. In fact, one complaint about World was that they removed the instrumental versions of every series' vocal themes, and in Overworld you could fix that through the custom soundtrack function. There's nothing "autistic" about it.

You're not going to listen to "the first ten seconds" of the music either, I don't know where you got that idea from. The music doesn't stop once the animations are over. I have to ask, have you played either a G Generation game or, hell, even a Super Robot Wars game before? No, seriously, I'm not trying to be condescending or anything, but if you've played any of the more recent games from those series you should know how it works. There are series like Fire Emblem that do cut the music once the animation is over, but G Gen isn't one of them.

There's also the obvious part where it's more convenient than switching songs manually in the media player whenever you want to play something else or when the scene changes tone. I mean, if you want to listen to some album continuously, that's fine, but if you want something within the context of the game, a custom soundtrack option is obviously a lot better. Just like the music available in the game itself, the custom music ends when it needs to. Maybe someone died, maybe a villain makes his entry, I dunno.

Finally, a custom soundtrack function is entirely optional and you're free to not use it regardless. Options are nice.

The PS4 Pro still has a bunch of extra features so its not all bad. If you're only looking to play a couple of games a Slim will do, but if you're looking forward to new games, buying the newest system can't do you wrong.
It can downsample from 4k to 1080p, plus can run some old games on 60fps (usually you're stuck with either 1080p/30fps or 720p/60fps).

Well it seems the G Gen originals are getting brand new lines for G Gen Genesis, which I'm really happy about. In that one gameplay video, it sounded like Mark Guilder had new lines.

So Junas probably has new lines too. It might be possible he got recasted though, like some of the other G Gen originals. I hope not though. I want him to still be voiced by Tsutomu Kashiwakura.

I remember someone mentioning that in a thread about the gameplay video a week ago. I thought the line from when Mark uses the beam cannons (12:32) was new, but as it turns out it's from the "intro" when he uses a Pinpoint Attack, which I hadn't heard in a long while since those intros were removed in World, as well as the music which I'm hopeful will return since the originals' Super Tension theme is back too. well outside of buying Digital or from Playasia, pretty much the only way you'll get a copy without getting reamed price wise would be to go to an anime convention and hope they have a copy for sale, which is how I got my copy of Gundam Breaker 3
