It's kind of sad that modern day Japanese kids, including boys, are more into moeshit and Candy Candy bishoujo sugoi kawaii desu crap.

I also loved Candy Candy as a young boy though

It's like they've regressed, much like filthy gaijin considering reality shows and TMZ as the epitome of entertainment.

I think that's the case with anime in general, when a show gets a sequel or season 2 it's never as good as the first one

What OP calls "good" is actually "bad" by the standards of the future generation, the real supporters. In nip's culture what is "good" is actually "bad" by OP's standard.

Sunrise can't write good sequels or second halves to pander people like OP, but it has served it purpose to the real fans with satisfaction.
