I've heard comparison to Rahxephon but I've found such little information about the show I just have to wonder if it's any good.

It's a decent show. I'd compare it to the SRW anime adaptations because it has a huge vareiety in mecha designs - from mass produced military grunts to small ninja robots and of course Ordian, who is a huge human-faced Obaribot. The problem and why a lot of times you'll hear people saying that the show is shit are the awful guesssubs. There are times when they are as bad as the Mazinger Z crabsticks.
