The closest we have to any ruling on who was 'inferior' in any version boils down to the novels, where Gihren basically sees it as a sweeping 'survival of the fittest' situation with a view that borders on cold-blooded psychotic.

In particular he's come to view the war itself as the first wave of house cleaning, rationalizing that those killed in the war were those who simply weren't strong enough, smart enough, or quick enough to stay alive and so probably weren't likely to make it anyway (an assessment he included himself in, interestingly enough, believing if he were to die for his ideology, so be it.)

Sounds very short sighted. In one way or other, he is actually dismissing further rebellion in a scenario where Zeon loses the war and have to serve EF for eternity, without complaining. Turns out Delaz himself didn't know much about his commander's ideology.
