***READ THE GUIDE***

For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions, as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here!
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're experienced, don't make the new people worry!
>Why won't anyone answer my question?
Try being specific, especially about your materials and process. Post pictures whenever possible; even if the kit/part looks bad, you are more likely to get help posting pictures.

== ACE PILOT GROUP BUILD ==

Starting September 1st, you have two months to build, customize, and paint a mobile suit of your choice into your own personal design. This can range from just a repainted Zaku to a kitbashed Gundam loaded with any spare rifles and Rocket Launchers you can find. Any suit from any series is fair game, just stick to 1/144 kits and you're good. When you're done feel free to post it in the thread, but also send pics to [email protected] so that all the entries can be judged/posted at once when the group build is over (If you don't want to be judged for the contest just feel free to mention it when you send in your pics).

Prizes include:
>1st Place: Any HG kit under $25 + an Action Base 2
>2nd Place: Any HG kit under $15
>3rd Place: An Action Base 2
(Note: Shipping is to USA and maybe Canada only)

Group build ends on October 31st, get building!

There's nothing wrong with being a snapbuilder. It's fine, not everyone can do a lot or doesn't really want to. You're free to do as you please, and you should have fun and not take negativity too serious if you're aware of it.

There's a lot wrong being a snapshitter that thinks he's doing anything good or special, thinking someone cares or want to see their snapped, undetailed/nubby/no panel lines/no topcoat kits, and then getting defensive and angry over critique or negative comments. Everyone can snap kits together. I understand some of you want to share your "first build(s)" or happiness over things, and that is understandable and to be frank, refreshing to see new people, but when you get to the 10th kit of just absolute no work, it's really bad.

Advocating/encouraging terrible jobs, no effort and the shitty mentality is cancerous. "Gunpla is freedom" doesn't work in that context.

I mean... if someone uploaded 3D models of the runners, it might. Though you'd have to put so much time and effort into cleaning it up as well as the amount it'd cost to have them printed if you didn't already own a printer would be outrageous. Plus it'd have to be a very high quality and precise printer, not your run of the mill consumer grade printer.

That actually could work as a neat "Junker" or Hybrid kit. Like, if you painted it up to look like all the parts are rusted and damaged it could look kinda neat. Only hard part would be the different leg lengths, but that could actually add to the depth of the character for the suit.

3 Zaku 1 kits I will likely buy more of them they are fun and relaxing to make
and 3 zaku 1 black tri stars kits I challenged my self to build all the zaku 1s in a two night session I was happy with how well I did.

My AGE-bro.

If there's one thing Atmospheric Entry says to me, it's those black ceramic plates space shuttles have. Think about the posture it takes when it breaks the atmosphere, and then paint that face black. Make everything else a nice NASA white with orange detailling, it'll look baller.

This is what I was thinking, if you assume it enters the atmosphere head first. G Bouncer because, well, it's basically a Xiphos and is easy to colour on account of being white already.

Ooooohhhh. That does look really good. That's not a bad idea at all.

Might have to kidnap/adapt that idea. The break of of the whites/greys adds some serious depth and I absolutely love it.

Now I'm torn between the idea of red with teal highlights, NASA colors, or shades of purple/blue/black.

So what's the main use for paint-type gundam markers? I accidentally bought some thinking they were lining markers and I don't really get what they're used for. I tried to paint a few small parts on a kit with them, but the paint was really clumpy dry (most likely my own fault).

I just use Citadel washes. Might be cheaper to make your own but they're easy to use and convenient. Way better results than a marker

I'd personally say forego the markers and shell out like ~$15 on a black, grey, red, and blue wash.. Get other colors if you want but those are what I get the most mileage out of

You're gonna need to paint Barbatos for full color accuracy anyways so you'll already have a paint brush in your hand.
