It was dull and awful, everything that made Try inferior crammed into one slightly longer episode when the setup would've likely worked better for two. The characters are the same, the forced haremshit with the neutron star dense protagonist is there and pulled to new levels of retardation as they get jealous of protag playing with toys with a little girl. What's worse is that the new kits are mostly just incredibly bland with special credit going to the Impulse GM replacing the Build Gundam Mk-II on having the shittiest tacked on backpack in the franchise.

The entire thing is desperarely trying to copy the original (in this case the finale) to get points but just mangles it, the action was both dull and uninspired as everyone just beamspam/winbutton'd everything in their way and yet it felt like it went by way too fast because they had to cram in 7 units and make them all look good and important so nothing has time to really shine in any way. Scramble Gundam does nothing but abuse plot god powers, which I guess it's fair because that's exactly what Sekai does anyway, with one final turbo asspull to end it all.

It's really bad but in a way it's the perfect sendoff for Try. It encapsulates essentially everything wrong with the show in one quick package and is left pining for days when Build Fighters was actually good.

It was the original GBF ending with the new cast, but without actual teamwork. Even when the Scramble Gundam fired the three giant space lasers it was just three parallel sets of "one character blocks the beam tor another" and then "By your powers combined....I am SUPERIOR KAISER" and one-punched the Scramble Gundam.

Gyanko had a nice new gunpla, that's about all I can say. Minato's two new gunpla were strikingly uncreative for the Shingyo school. Burning was slightly uglier, Yuuma's Lightning and Fumina's SD looked pretty much the same, and two more instances of "A girl? Give her a Bearguy".

It's just the AGE 2's backpack. What's funny is that at the end of Try Yuuma had built that backpack that allowed him to shoot a beam phoenix, like Sekai, implying he was starting to think outside the box. Now he's back to being boring.

This one is actually explainable. Remember, original settings rules/tech =/= gunpla battle version. The beam can eat through GN particles in its own setting, but in BF everything is plavsky particles and doesn't strictly follow the tech and rules from the series.

The blasts were also being fired from scaled down/condensed playing fields around the Scramble gundam so they may not have been full sized or as powerful as they might otherwise have been.

The actual explaination is after the death of Superior Dragon, God Gundam becomes the new core of the Gold God. God Gundam overseas' name is Burning Gundam, and Kamiki Burning Gundam is the latest version of the God Gundam bloodline.

All they had to do to was remove Sekai and Junya. Fumina v Gyanko v Shia works perfectly well as just a gunpla rivalry. With all the time for Sekai screaming and haremshit freed up, there's plenty of time to develop the rest of the cast a bit more too.

If you still want to maintain the 3 theme, put Minato on the team, have the conflict be between more traditional gunpla building and the 'gunplna is freedom' model espoused by his school. Moral of the story is then that both schools of gunpla are true gunpla, and should be appreciated.

That's the point of most Build Fighter mecha. Hell even the original gunpla fighting manga. And mobile suit variation and so much more spinoff stuff. It's like modded cars and shit.

It's normal to get tired of this stuff pretty quickly. But it is so disappointing when it happens to you and you know it's a good suit. When Season 1 of Build Fighters was airing I was so excited to see what new version of a suit would pop up but when Build Fighters Tri Island Wars suit came out I just could care less. And I liked the OAV. I can't even tell the difference between the ZII and the ZZII at a glance.

Nope. The ZZII is actually covered in all sorts of little details to make it more ZZ-ish. Starting from the bottom up, it:

- Removes the side fins.
- Has symmetrical thrusters on the calves.
- Adds a little red bit on the knee spikes.
- Adjusts the front skirt armor to have the ZZ's little rectangles.
- Removes the red armor on the side skirts to get something primarily blue (though it doesn't go all the way and add yellow thrusters).
- Lengthens the forearm armor and makes it a distinctly separate part, similar to the ZZ's shields.
- Changes the shoulders entirely to resemble the FA ZZ's setup.
- Changes the backpack to have the same option to have two beam cannons flip down and point forwards.
- Adds ZZ shields to the backpack to act as binders, Hyaku Shiki style.

The torso is the only odd bit, as neither the Zeta, the ZZ, or the ZII features symmetrical shoulder cameras or 00 style chest vents. If I had to say it looked like anything, I guess soooorta the mkII? The whole thing seems like it's trying to remind you of Gryps era designs.

Anyways, suffice to say that the ZZII actually IS a very creative design. It's just that it doesn't scream out loud that it's a custom like Tryon 3, you have to actually be familiar with the ZII to see what's different.

It's because a lot of the original seasons designs only made small changes that made the gunpla look more personalized. It gave them character and different abilities (The weakest in my opinion being the X Maoh, which just felt like they tossed on glowing panels and fiddled with the backpack a little).

These actually make quite a few changes on close inspection, but they don't really add anything to the overall look of the design and you may have trouble even seeing the changes unless you put it directly next to the original.

I think we can all agree that this was the most underwhelming/worst upgrade and new kit in the OVA.

Both its color and aesthetic clash with the lightning and the design itself feels like a downgrade compared to the MK II back system. Its supposed to be some sort of beam cannon enhancer but it removes a bunch of the thrusters, the beam cannons, and the missiles to do it. The little white gun/beam saber looking things on it don't even seem to do anything.

I disagree. If you look at the core parts of the MS like the torso, the arms, and the thighs, they are very Zeta-ish. The ZZ always had that blocky torso for the core fighter or core block, which is lacking here.
