People conflate super robots with super heroes. It's wrong to think of Ota's Grendizer as your typical American super "hero".

The one i just read about was a Guardian by an ancient civilisation.

And when shit goes bad between humans, Grendizer was given the command to destroy Earth. Hardly a super hero..
