Are startup/boot-up sequences still a thing? Gets me more hyped than a combining or transformation gimmick.
>>
I personally like when they get shot off a ramp and thank the captain for food.
>>
>>14657144

Im sure they are but it's hard to really think up examples and it's really something that would get tiresome to show every time

>0083
>All of those start up sequences
>Those massively overly loud "SH-CLICK" when he flips up the 5 or 6 flip switches in a row followed by the booting up computer and the slight rumble of the suit powering on
>3 button sequence followed by fade bar esque toggle increasing the power output of the beam sword
God I love me Stardust memory

> VFs actually have pin codes to prevent people from stealing them

THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT, FEDDIES.

THIS IS HOW YOU BUILD A GUNDAM AND KEEP IT INSTEAD OF IT FALLING INTO ENEMY HANDS THE FIRST TIME A TEENAGE BOY GETS WITHIN 100 FEET OF IT.

Wake up, Dann.

This show gets bonus points for weaponizing the "launch" sequence. I mean, it's really more of an orbital drop sequence, but still.
>>
>>14659137
Real life jets don't even have those though. They just leave the key in and hope Secfo funnels the people who shouldn't be there.
It's mainly incase the base comes under fire someone doesn't forget essential information and ends up grounding himself.

Yeah, I'm fairly certain that only Basara's Fire Valk had a PIN code lock due to its location not being stored in a high security military base.

this that shit
>>
My favorite one is when the Zeon mobile suits power up in that secret desert base in 0083 (specifically episode 4).
>>
>>14659853
This little skirmish was easily one of my favorite Gundam battle scenes.

"Zeonwank" whiners please note that not a single Feddie pilot is actually killed in this fight.

Kou haters please note the sick MLG play he pulls after Monsha gives him shit.
>>
>>14659538
They don't even have keys, the entire startup process is just obtuse enough such that people not familiar with how to spool the engines up will be stuck on the ground and quickly surrounded by base security.
>>
>>14659560
Basara must be one paranoid bastard if he thinks that someone is going to be able to steal his guitar controlled robot

What makes the scene are the sound effects.

Like that weird "Wananana" at 15:08.

Hell, even if a thief did fail his attempt at flying off with the Fire Valk, he could still very easily smash that apartment to pieces just by flailing around with the controls.

Why is 4chan stuck with VP8 again?
>>
>>14660586
board software doesn't support it, when we got webm support VP9 wasn't widely supported?
>>
>>14660593
Why has Hiroyuki not started supporting it though?

It can't be too hard, every other major webm host seems to be doing it now.
>>
>>14660833

The VF-19 was the top of the line fighter in the UN Spacy. It was so new that most fleets didn't even have one of them.
>>
>>14657144
IBO had launch sequences
>>
>>14659538

Which makes sense for real life planes, but mobile suits are clearly another matter. I am honestly having trouble thinking of a UC Gundam that wasn't, at some point, successfully stolen or operated by nonmilitary personnel with the exception of the Alex from War in the Pocket.
>>
>>14661554

And at least at one point a Gundam was even stolen by the Zeon.

As a way to keep this thread going, what do you guys think a mobile suit prep sequence consists of? Not just the start-up, but fully getting a mech ready for combat deployment.

I imagine it's a lot like getting a fighter jet ready.

Well, if it's anything like getting an A-10 rolling, it'll be very lengthy and boring

>>
>>14661554
Planes have been stolen a bunch in the past, mostly by disgruntled flight line workers who miss their families, but still.
>>
>>14662048
Literally press a button.

They really lowered the bar after Amuro got the Gundam, you don't even need to read the manual to know how to work a mobile suit. Thanks to poor security practices, this is why mobile suit theft is so rampant.

The Amuro test, if you will; if you had access to the manual, you'd be overqualified to operate the mobile suit anyway.

There's also the fact that support crews get it out othe hanger and fuel it up in the first place. They don't leave vehicles sitting there gassed up.

You can't just jump into something in the hanger and take off, even if you know how to pilot it unless you have several crewman also helping you.

I can literally go to my flightline right now and take a picture of 20 jets or so chilling ready to go. The only time planes are taking away is when they're undergoing maintenance.
