There are enough resources on this planet to satisfy everyone. The problem is not on that level, it's one of distribution. Resources are not distributed equally around the world, and some nations whose name will not be pronounced hoard resources and destroy entire nations either militarily or through the force of corporations so that less than 50% of their own citizens can live puny miserable lives, while the rest live in poverty. Let alone the rest of the world. You want to fix the problem ? Start by nuking the country that's south of Canada and north of Mexico.

Nationalism and patriotism, racism, modern feminism and all those stupid gender/sexuality distinctions, the foolish definition of personal identity based on societal standards imposed on you by others, if we don't get rid of this stupid ass shit we will never reach true union as a species, entitlement and the desperate search of a safe space of societal approval is corroding our future in many ways.
And then we'll have to deal with greedy corporate fucks who either run elections and governments through puppets or in person, nations who thrive on the exploitment of others, overweight fucks on one side of the border and people who die of hunger and famine on the other side, these are the problems.

Unity is what creates nations and groups in the first place, and I don't see how the EU or US or any other place is worthless because of that.
The US were created with unity on a human level in mind as a basis but unfortunately it seems it was rapidly forgotten.

Competition exists regardless of unity or not, just like Apple competes with Microsoft or any car maker does with its rivals, uniting at a global level doesn't invalidate competition in any way but it could get rid of stupid waste of resources like nuke e-peen measuring, resource mismanagement and petty wars.
