>decide to give Casshern Sins a try since seeing that Casshern thread a few days ago
>not even ten seconds into the first episode and we're already into some heavy teenage angst.
Oh boy. To think I asked for this...

It's a show about EVERYTHING DYING. Why wouldn't you expect angst? A world filled with beings that believed themselves to be immortal found themselves afflicted with a plague that kills them.

Sins is best enjoyed watching a few episodes and giving a pause because the whole thing really depressive since even the original Casshern wasn't exactly happy stuff.
Also if you don't like hearing laments from the MC you should drop it right now since the whole anime is about Casshern coming to terms with what he supposedly did and recovering his memories about kickstarting the apocalypse

Its not only the machines, the humans themselves have been all but wiped out by the plague faster than the robots, they survived because they keep canibalizing each other
>>14610118
I couldn't remember what happened to the humans well. I wasn't aware that they were killed by the same plague, always thought it was something else.
>>14610121
As you put in your post everything is dying, literally everything, the planet itself became that barren wasteland because of this
>>14610121
In episode 3 or 4 we meet a human. He's apparently dying of lung cancer.
>Akira Ishida plays two characters
>they both die
>>14612266
And Amuro plays Casshern.
>>14610121
I think it was just robots hunting humans for the most part.

>heavy teenage angst.
>"Hey, for what reason were we born?"
>heavy teenage angst.
Jesus fuck
The show tries so fucking hard to manufacture angst and aggressive nihilism. It's one of my least favourite anime for that very reason.
>>14613541
yeah, how dare people react negatively and question their life in the face of death
>>14610091
It's literally "Kill Yourself ~ The Animation" and you'll feel bad about watching it both during and after.
Do yourself a favor and watch some Dai Guard instead.

>manufacture angst and aggressive nihilism

It's sad but it also show how people bear the struggle in their own way.
I'll never understand why this show is so hated around here. I thought it was pretty good, and really gorgeous too.

I only ended up watching this because it was on Toonami, but I think the one-week intervals and being mixed in with other shows took the edge off it.
Except that one night where it was like, the Deadman Wonderland finale, the Cowboy Bebop finale, the Tank that just wanted to see his mom again ep of GITS, the tiny depressed Envy ep of FMA:B, and the dying artist ep of Sins. Was a long night.
