We're never going to restore /m/ to its pre-2013 civil war years are we?

I just realized that is out of date
>>
OP what the fuck are you talking about you little faggot I will fuck you up you little shit
>>
None of those shows are remotely bad. Just goes to show how childish the plebs of 4chan are.
>>
>>14585126
I agree.
>>
the civil war predates 2013
>>
op must be one of the babby boomers that arrived after the great toku wars of '09-10.
>>
>>14585056
>>/m/ can't agree on anything
That's a good thing you retard.
Having a poll with 3 options result in a near 3-way tie is exactly how it should be.
To be honest I ironically voted for G-Reco but my point still stands
>>
>>14585056
>>/m/ can't agree on anything

Id much prefer a board of differing opinions than the same homogeneous bullshit that results in boards being a hug box echo chamber
>>
>>14585056
What's so bad about these shows?
I'm kinda out of the loop
>>
>>14585209
They're new.
>>
>>14585056
Ibo is bad?
>>
>>14585194
Your opinions are wrong and I think you're a faggot
>>
>>14585218
I don't get it either. But /m/ is very negatively opinionated in general, I suppose.
>>
>>14585218
I don't G-Reco, or IBO are as bad as the memes claim. Try is bad, but mostly in contrast to Build Fighters.

/m/ is full of a bunch of mouth breathers who fell asleep during their high school lit classes and thinks if a character doesn't act exactly the way they themselves would in that situation then that character is unlikable and therefore bad.
>>
>>14585056
Fuck of back to the Scandinavia of the internet if you want conformity, faggot.
>>
>>14585218
IBO is pretty boring
Try is a mediocre kid's show
G-Reco is a hipster kid's show
>>
>>14585194

To be fair, /m/ in way is a hug box echo chamber whenever a show is generally disliked here while said show has a neutral/positive reception outside. I honestly thought /m/ would have collapsed into a black hole as Try was progressing
>>
>>14585445
what was so bad about try?

Would /m/ consider 2013 a year of civil war for the board?
>>
At least there is always /co/! >>>/co/85193565
>>
>>14585515
You can pinpoint the exact moment /m/ entered that thread and ruined it.
>>

Dude, I consider 2007 a year of civil war for the board.

SHIT POSTS:
EPISODE IV - A NEW TURD

IT IS A PERIOD OF CIVIL WAR(tm).

REBEL SHITPOSTERS, POSTING FROM A HIDDEN IP, HAVE WON THEIR FIRST SHITSTORM AGAINST THE EVIL TASTELESS EMPIRE.
>>
>>14585560
That was an ugly winter

Those days have returned
>>
>>14585459
post-2013 /m/ has been pretty fucking terrible. Used to be a lot less shitposting, though there were several more tripfags. But at least you could filter those fuckers.

It really says a lot about the alternatives if this place is *still* the best place to talk about mecha if you're an english speaker.
>>
Try is bad but it wouldn't be that shocking if Build Fighters wasn't so good, that only made the fall be worse. G-Reco and IBO are ok just because there weren't high expectations about them.
>>
>>14585445

you're not wrong but we also have the freedom to call each other faggot and move on
>>
To me IBO is as if someone wanted to take the political aspect of 00, and the drama of SEED, and make it into a show; but never thought about why those shows were good.
Resulting in an incredibly predictable plot, contrived drama, bland characters, and awful combat. They couldn't even bother to let Eins kill anybody.
>>
>>14585560
Why? Because of GL and 00 being super popular?
I don't really remember anything horrid from that period.
>>
>>14585598
People disagreeing with you =/= shitposting

This is not your safespace kiddo.
>>
>>14585758
Not to say those shows don't have faults on their own, but IBO just really felt half baked.
>>
>>14585773
There's also a difference between disagreeing and shitposting about it
>>
>>14585209
Try is the only one that is truly terrible out of these. Forced Harem, shitty mobile suits short of two in the show, the battles are poorly choreographed, the main character is an unlikable stereotype that gets all of his wins handed to him, there's somehow more stock footage than in fucking G Gundam, the list goes on

How's your first year on /m/ been, pal?
>>
>>14585938
>SRW
That's /v/ not /m/.
>>
>>14585771
GL, Geass, Saigar, 00, Strike Witches (and specifically the creation of the 'not /m/' meme).

All that shit broke the board. Yes it put /m/ on the map, but it also started /m/'s decline from a polite mecha centric board, to a shitposting board with a slight mecha bent.

Should /m/ bring back Beargguy macros?
>>
>>14586011
Dude pls, no one likes your shitty Beargguy.
>>
>>14585126
If Zeta was an option (as it should have been) the poll wouldn't have been nearby as split.

>>
>>14586040
whats the difference
>>
>>14586054
Curseguy called out the topic spammer aka Valvrager
>>
Cursgeguy here (my citation >>14586066), Valvrager is someone that rides my coattails in an attempt to mimic my tactics and uses bottom barrel bait.
>>
>>14586025
>Not knowing about that shitty beargguy caption.
>>
>>14586113
There were several, be specific
>>
>>14586087
And curse guy was just lazy fucking ripoff of the IS Spammer (The IS guy at least did his shit manually every day. Curse guy just slapped his image to the very last thread on page ten, waited for it to fall off and then repeated it. All this so he could make it the top image on a worthless archive that no one can see anymore since the archive is dead.)

And the IS spam was just inspired by the skygirls shit. And the IS guy later admitted he only did it since he hates /m/ as a whole and wanted to shit up the board and didn't actually give a shit about IS.
>>

isnt this guy a regular tripfag here
>>
>>14586040
Does it really matter?

One is unfunny but thinks otherwise, the other is up his ass in his own opinions (they aren't even opinions, they're claims, you can actually truth-evaluate a claim, it's the fucking antithesis of an opinion!) but thinks otherwise. Both are equally deluded.

Nowadays the valvrager proper has been reduced to a nebulous boogeyman thanks to the shitheap that is the Kuromukuro general thread, but the next time you think everyone's having a giggle at your shitpost remember 2 YEARS OF NONSTOP SELF-AGGRANDIZING SHITPOSTING.

It's not even enjoyable shitposting, it's just a spruced up version of the slightly older "prove me wrong" shitpost tactic.

But as >>14586121 points out, it's really all just the same song done to a different tune at the end of the day. It's become something of a tradition for one arbitrary work to get an overwhelming amount of hate for no real purpose beyond proving that you could create an unspoken blacklist of /m/ content.
>>
>>14586133
Yes. He's been shitting /m/ up since the day the board existed more or less. I came during an odd hiatus when everyone thought he was dead or something. And then he came back and shitposted harder than ever.

Kinda reminds me of Aldnoah. To me, Aldnoah felt like a bunch of producers looked at a bunch of the most popular mecha shows and just started plucking elements out of them. "Crippled loli princess, we have to have that." It never really got why people liked these things and it felt soulless on top of being generic.

But I have to admit, Aldnoah does have a lot more going on for it than IBO. IBO, while not as bad, just feels hallow. Like there isn't enough content there to warrant two cours.
>>
>>14585056
>2013

The only thing that happened that year was Muvfags flying into an autistic rage over Gundam (and Macross I guess). Or whatever one would call organized creation of numerous Muv-Luv threads, then deleting them and crying persecution by mods.
>>
G-Reco = 2001 A Space Odyssey. Visually impressive to look at with some great sound design, but the story is very much hit or miss with the viewers.

IBO = Hot Topic Gundam. Tries to look edgier and more mature than it actually is. In reality, never really takes any risks,

Try = A soulless toy commercial... even by Gundam standards.
>>
>>14587731
Hes just that kind of a guy.
>>
>>14594307
More like

G-Reco=Batman v Superman

IBO=Civil War

Try=Age of Extinction
>>
>>14599361
Civil War wasn't nearly as fucking boring
>>
>>14599361

That would have to imply the Bayformers franchise was overall good in the first place
>>
>>14594307
>story is very much hit or miss with the viewers.

2001 was a hit with critics and audiences, sorry. That was not G-Reco.
>>
>>14599361
What's Suicide Squad in this analogy? The pending IBO S2?
>>
>>14599447

2001 suffered from mixed reception back when it first came out. There were critics who called it boring or too abstract. And there were the stoners who only watched it for the stargate sequence.
>>
>>14585056
It would be nicer to restore /m/ before Toku was ever officially allowed.
>>
>>14599447
What "anime critics" do you take into account?
