Nevermind the speculation that Origin is an "alternative UC," is Origin shaping up to be the "patch" UC has needed all these years for all the OYW's increasing number of variants?
If we get a full remake, think we'll get some RGM-79[G] and RX-79[G] cameos?

>If we get a full remake, think we'll get some RGM-79[G] and RX-79[G] cameos?
Hopefully not.
>is Origin shaping up to be the "patch" UC has needed all these years for all the OYW's increasing number of variants?
What sort of "patch" are you talking about?

I hope this gives us a Revive Jim.

Why are there three separate entries for the RX-78-2?
>>14572261
They keep introducing new entries, and in order to give them a draw they give them some special new Gundam or variant GM or something. Often it gets a model kit. Problem is they keep coming up with these things for a OYW that was bloated with mech designs to start with, then more in the years after with the MSV kits. Eventually it infringes on the lore. So we get projects like Harmony of Gundam and MSD that try to 'fix' the inconsistencies by setting up missing links that, suprise surprise, they turn around and make shiny new kits of.

>patch
It's a video game term, which leads me to believe OP is from /v/ and therefore should get the fuck out
>>14572277
IIRC the origin manga gave the RX-78-02 more updates (mostly thrusters) throughout the war to improve it, with the late type having the most.

>Problem is they keep coming up with these things for a OYW that was bloated with mech designs to start with
So your problem is that there are too many designs?
>Eventually it infringes on the lore.
In what way? You mean they keep retconning and revising the lore?
>So we get projects like Harmony of Gundam and MSD that try to 'fix' the inconsistencies by setting up missing links that, suprise surprise, they turn around and make shiny new kits of.
Harmony of Gundam wasn't meant to fix anything. It was just a project to update old designs and create new ones for inclusion into video games, with the blessings of Sunrise. They're considered official designs even if they haven't been animated before at the time.
MSD isn't fixing jackshit, nor is it a reboot like what Marvel/DC try to make sense of their decades of baggage and lore. It's just Origin trying to tie itself into the mess that is the prime UC timeline by introducing new machines that lead to already established stuff from 08th MS Team and MSV.

It's a software term you dipshit.
>>14572296
>>14572584
It's very common with software, but patch is also used for textiles, car tires, basically anything.
It just means a functioning if sometimes makeshift fix, which Origin could be considered to be.

>Thunderbolt the post
You are probably right though.
I still like Thunderbolt.
>>14572232
Is that an Origin FAG?
I hope it gets a kit. I love the MSV FAG
I still don't know what OP means when he says patch.
No, I'm not looking for a definition. I want to know what he expects Origin to do. Retcon out old designs as if they don't exist, clearing the lore? Or fixing continuity? Or what?
>>14572656
No, it's the RX-78[N] and RX-78-01[N].
The Black One is seen in North America and makes Cucuruz Doan shit his pants when it attacks his team.
