Wait are people seriously implying the standard red/blue/yellow color scheme is actually any good from a graphic design standpoint? I understand liking it because of nostalgia but if it weren't for its iconic status, no one would dare try and get away with that color scheme in 2016.

Green/white isn't perfect, but dominate mono-color+white will trump any color scheme that tries to pass off the 3 primary colors as anything but an eyesore.

The VF-1 looks better in tan for fighter and gerwalk mode. Battroid mode looks better with a more heroic scheme like Max's blue or Roy and Hikaru's Skull Squad colors.

I've grown accustomed to the RX-78's white-blue-red-yellow colors, but objectively speaking it's almost unforgivably garish.

As long as you stay away from rainbow coloring you'll be fine.

The Victory in my opinion is as close to perfect as you can get if you have to stick to the classic Gundam color scheme. White and blue almost always looks nice and the very slight accents of red and yellow help break it up.

Same reason Nu works so well. White and navy blue with yellow highlights and very minor red accents. If there were any more red, the whole color scheme would fall apart.

The delta is what the hyaku shiki was supposed to be, but due to budget cuts and rapidly increasing technology the delta got gimped and the zeta gundam was developed as the transforming unit.

No, you've got it backwards. The Delta Gundam came first as a theoretical design on paper, but they were unable to work out design flaws in the transforming frame and it was never actually built. They later reworked it into the non-transforming Hyaku Shiki as one of those special units for the AEUG.

There's nothing about AE having budget cuts or the Delta being inferior to the latest batch of Zeta era designs. In fact, the Delta Gundam design gets updated for the 0090s and kicks a lot of ass.

My personal favorite is white and very light shades of cloud blue or lavendar as Seen on the Hi-Nu Ver.Ka and G-self concept design
