Asemu Asuno waited. The lights above him blinked and sparked out of the air. There were vegans in the building. He didn't see them, but had expected them now for years. His warnings to Woolf Enneacle were not listenend to and now it was too late. Far too late for now, anyway. Asemu was a pilot for fourteen years. When he was young he watched the mobile suits and he said to dad "I want to be in the suits daddy..."
Dad said "No! You will BE KILL BY VEGANS"
There was a time when he believed him. Then as he got oldered he stopped. But now in the space station base of the EFF he knew there were vegans.
"This is Woolf" the radio crackered. "You must fight the vegans!"
So Asemu gotted his DODS rifle and blew up the wall.
"HE GOING TO KILL US" said the vegans "I will shoot at him" said the vegan gear and he fired the rocket missiles. Asemu DODSed at him and tried to blew him up. But then the ceiling fell and they were trapped and not able to kill.
"No! I must kill the vegans" he shouted
The radio said "No, Asemu. You are not the x-rounder"
And then Asemu was a pirate.

Asemu didn't go toe to toe with Zeheart, Asemu buttfucked Zeheart like he was his long lost wife and he hadn't had any for all the time he was a space pirate. And did so in the Dark Hound, a jury-rigged machine that's a generation older, after Zeheart gets the Legilis and ditches his limiter mask so he's going at full power with the ultimate Vagan MS. Who needs newtype shittery when you can git gud.

Kio didn't want to divide people up between enemy and friend, he wanted to stop the hate so that as many people as possible from both sides could be counted as friend. He wasn't against Vegans, but neither was he against Earth. He was against *war*.

Basically the protagonists of AGE progress like this:
Flit: "I'm going to save everyone on my side"
Asemu: "I'm going to save as many people as I reasonably can"
Kio: "I'm going to save EVERYONE."

The message of the show is that there's no real difference between the average person on each side. Admittedly, the show does spend a lot more time dehumanizing the Vegans than humanizing them, but people who vilify Kio don't seem to grasp that fact and refuse to see the Vegans as anything other than fully complicit heartless monsters when the show makes it clear that Ezelcant is no more honest with the people of Second Moon than he is with the people of Earth. The show really could have used more time spent showing Kio meeting normal people on Second Moon and maybe a few Vegans siding with Kio against Ezelcant's plan.

The problem with the Vegans is that their leaders are just retarded, if not outright evil. Their civilians are pretty much suffering under those fucking leaders if you think about it, and those with some authority never questioned what Ezelcunt's decision to not move Second Moon away from Mars, the source of their people's suffering, up until 50 over years after the initial invasion when they could have moved it the whole time.

They(read: the leadership) are butthurt about Earth abandoning them, sure, but they built warships that could travel to Earth.
And gen 3 proved that they could have moved Second Moon the whole time, but no, they left it at Mars to let future generations of kids they have suffer and die from Mars' radiation.
Those fucking Vegan civilians trusted their leaders, but no, the leadership left the people to fucking suffer and die at Mars, while their perfectly healthy soldiers are sent to Earth, some even infiltrating Earth and setting up base camp there.

Apparently, at no point did any high ranking Vegan soldier step back and say "Hey, why aren't we moving our people away from Mars when we can move soldiers to Earth to fight?".

No, because the wife he choose had nothing to do with him leaving to be a pirate or his child becoming either a pilot or a pacifist. Asemu left because to be a pirate because of Vagan infiltration of Earth and Kio became a pilot because Flit groomed him to be one, while he became a pacifist because of people he met on Mars. His mother played no part in any of that and while she may have had an influence on him, it's unlikely given the story to be nearly as great an influence as Flit or Loo.

AGE-2 is the ugliest of the four AGE Gundams.

I like the idea that Flit and Asemu each build one AGE machine, with Flit using the AGE machine to build one more focused on X-Rounder stuff, which he eventually pilots himself while Asemu builds one from a fusion of Earth and Vagan tech, then gives it to Kio to pilot. With Flit and Kio clashing over their ideals. The problem being that the fusion of Earth and Vagan tech machine (AGE-FX) is a more X-Rounder focused machine.

Still, with a bit of reworking it'd be cool to see Flit build an AGE-3 with an X-Rounder focus and bits while Asemu builds a more traditional Gundam using tech from both sides and his X-Rounder son has to over come a greater machine piloted by a more experienced X-Rounder to prove his ideals.

There's some fertile ground there for exploration, and the show just threw it aside and made the clone a last minute addition with no character and not even any real dialogue.
