I can dig that, but only if the switch happens in the middle of the Climax with the X-Drives so everyone gets to know that Shirabe has bowed out at least temporarily and Fine is now in charge of the body. That way Kirika is sure of what's up and Fine doesn't have to play the role of Shirabe anymore.

Yeah, this could be pretty good. Maria has asked Chris to take care of Kirika. And Fine spends most of her time at the SONG base trying to avoid those two, and as she has Shirabe's memories she tries to hide how much Kirika's rejection has hurt her. She has taken her hair out of the twintail style because of a time when Kirika exploded at her when they were in prison for 'trying to be Shriabe'.

Basically, the Nehushtan wasn't completely destroyed and Fine's soul was already called to a new host. So when the relic was reawoken it tried to return to 'normal' and to do that it needed a soul and was able to call back Ryouko's dormant one which had never left.
