None, because I didn't give the rumour much weight or care even if it was true. I was and still am mildly annoyed at it though once the trailer came out, because her pretending to be a boy has no real reason. Welp, I just finished marathoning this and I don't see why I'd start another thread about it (and there's no thread on /co/), so pardon the blogposting.

I just have to say, I went into this show ready to be disappointed, but it was just a very solid action show with good world building, pacing, characters and plot progression. Like a return to form for Western action cartoons after the Great Purge of the early 2010's (back when basically all the plot-driven, non-episodic/non-comedy action shows like Tron Uprising, Motorcity, Sym Bionic Titan, GI Joe Renegades, Avengers EMH, GL:TAS, etc. were all canceled one after the other and replaced with comedies).

My main gripe with the show was the stupid holodeck simulation of the dead king because I always hate that sort of bullshit (I hate it too with Jor-El in most Superman canons) where "a bloo bloo bloo my father is dead even though there's this perfect AI replica of him I can talk to at any time" because I feel like it's cheap and prevents the characters from truly moving on and then they did an absolutely fantastic episode about exactly that where the princess was forced to PHYSICALLY BREAK the AI and move on and that settled the show as something fucking great for me.

If I have to make any recommendations it would be this: fucking cut down on the vomit/fart jokes, there's better way to inject humor than gross-out humor.

They did cut down on them. I don't recall any outside of the first episode or two. That aside, I honestly can't say I connected with Crystal Poison or whatever the episode was called at all. Her holodad was only really in that one episode and despite what you said, he wasn't really her dad, just a memory, so having him die didn't really have any weight to me. I thought the prospect of the Balmera dying and everyone having to abandon it would have been far more emotive, and I was really enjoying the episode and buying in to it until Allura pulled out a new magic ability to save the day. I think the holodad thing could have been good in theory, but it needed to make more of him as a character to do so.

The reason Keith and Lance feel underdeveloped is because they are underdeveloped. The two do share the hothead overconfident role, but they have enough differentiation that it could be an interesting dynamic if it was actually explored. They just haven't bothered to explore it.
