I was playing Dark Souls 2, but then I just finished it a few hours ago.
Compared to the first game that one felt downright douchey at times, especially when you get to the DLC/expansion areas. It's funny when you go back to the main game after trying those and suddenly you're unstoppable because the jump in difficulty was that intense. It was still pretty good though.
Oh, and if someone can explain to me how do you end up in the middle of a volcano by climbing to the top of a windmill and taking an elevator that goes straight upwards, please do. That's still the most confusing part of the entire game.

99 to 101 stages, depending on if you got enough SR points (ugh) and get the dubious privilege of putting Char out of his misery.

The problem with Impact isn't just that it has a bunch of stages, or that they drag on like >>14374704 points out, or that its SR point reqs and bonus pilot skills are infuriating to get (especially doing both at once), or that it has THE single worst memory card load times I have ever seen.

Compared to other big SRWs, it doesn't really have that many more unique stages - it's just that you're forced to play (almost) ALL of them on a single run - other games have multiple route splits to both increase replay value and decrease frustration. Impact has precisely one 4-stage route split where you don't have to play both stages. Setting aside Impact's shitty new game + bonuses, you're slogging through the same shit all over again, although MAYBE in a slightly different order to pick up some different secrets.

And that's terrible.

It's a choice between wanting Quattro and his wingmen, as well as getting Four early, or keeping Sayla and Recoa, getting Gato, Quess, Kayra and...Katz. So yeah.

Also, I'm gonna be honest with you, from what I can remember, most grunts in that you really just have to grit your teeth and make do with until something better comes along.

The levels of your units are really scrambled. Grunts start at 2 and aces at 8 if I'm not mistaken. And exp gain isn't as exaggerated as in post Alpha games. Four levels of difference won't really give you that much exp, so even with kills under their belt, it took them a while to level up.

Totally late for that but it's due to how 2-parter missions work in F/FF

Any units deployed during the first time have their starting will during the second half become equal to 100 - (Will level they had at the end of the first half - 100). If you bring a shitty resupply bot to lower all your units below 100 before killing the last enemy, you can make it so their will goes back to 100 again, and due to lack of good units in F, you might have to game the system like that.

don't worry, once you start getting double move it's insanely easy to finish stages in 5 turns or less, and I averaged 10 turns in the early game as well. be careful not to finish the stage that spawns Puru as reinforcements too early though, the Qubeley and the Jagd Doga are fine gundam mechs for your MCs since the Zeta/F91/whatever mechs kind of suck dick lategame

If you're smart with route splits you can lessen turn count as well by avoiding routes with tons of stages early on

A good time (currently have only one EX stage to go before going to 6-6). They even remixed/brought back older songs from before Return. There is the occasional lag, although that might be due to pushing the portable system to its limits.

Also, I should point out that Epic Yarn is decent, but not really what you'd expect from a regular Kirby (since it originally wasn't even meant to be a Kirby game). Consider that one akin to Wario Land 2/3.

So this is Combattler V's debut in SRW and they kill off Garuda in the first stage. Weird. And what's weirder, Combattler V has no SP banks, so it's just one normal pool with standard heal seishins. It's a pretty good unit at this point, nothing else comes close to 2000 moves atm.

Ike spends almost the entire game as a foot unit locked to the worst weapon type. Even if his combat is excellent, he's inferior to the multitude of units that can actually counter kill everything on the enemy phase.
