Gonna give MXP a go, already have the HP Bloat fix patch, mostly just curious if there's anything else I need to know before going in. Any particular units to avoid, units to buff because they're mandatory on hard missions, that kind of thing.

If you're going in for PoD, know that you're not getting a hold of Akito himself for a long, long time.

As for buffing, it's been a while since I played, but stuff like Zeorymer and Daimos you probably can't go wrong with, along with the OG units naturally.

Chapter 48F
We return to see what's happening with our heroes while Fei was dealing with Id and Grahf after the fight against the Gigantic God in Jupiter.

The first part covers the CBF, Freeden squad and Getter Team vs Deathgaia. Deathgaia will regenerate a couple times but after the second one, Ryou and Shou will do a team up attack destroying his core and preventing him from regenerating anymore.

The second part covers the Machine Robo team vs Glowbine and the other Machine Robo enemies. When you're done killing them, they'll get transported to a different space where Gildrome resides, The G Gundam team will arrive as reinforcements and the group will defeat Gildrome once and for all.

Masato will arrive along with the guys from the first part and we'll get introduced to Muge himself. He'll bring along Gades and revive Emperor Gore from the dead. When you defeat them, Muge will revive them again and you'll find out that he's using the power of Zohar to amplify his psychic powers. This is when Fei comes out of the Zohar and interrupts its flow with Xenogears giving our team a chance to defeat their enemies.

When you defeat Gades, we'll reenact the last part of Machine Robo where Rom has no choice but to kill his older brother whose body got fused with Gades using the power of twin blades of Chronos.

When Gore dies a second time, he'll complain about losing to Getter for a third time in his rule as the Emperor of the Dinosaurs. Go will attempt to finish him off using God Getter but it fails and Gore laughs it off. This is when the Neo Getter Team gets visited by Musashi's spirit who tells them about Getter being at full power when the hearts of the three pilots are one. The team takes his advice and unleashes a new move, the Getter Change Attack which defeats Emperor Gore once again.

You're given an option when you start via a clear save if you want them unequipped. If you select yes, they're all unequipped and put into the correct spots.

I'd recommend keeping them equipped if you're going for an all secrets run as that Sirbine/Zwauth requirement to shoot down Drake on the Dunbine intro stage is a bitch otherwise.

You get four battleships in Alpha 2, and one of them is shit. The Mother Vanguard is not the shit one.

Mother Vanguard is really dodgy for a 2L ship (it has an actual dodge animation IIRC even) and hits pretty hard, though its EN efficiency is bad and it's the only 1 pilot one.

Daiku Maryu starts pretty bad but gets stronger later, in the 40s it unlocks a combo with Gaiking (who also starts bad but gets pretty strong later) that is one of the strongest moves in the game, though it's a bit stronger for Gaiking than DM in base power (since Gaiking's an L size and DM is 2L).

Ra Cailum is just plain fucking good and takes shit from no one. It eventually gets nukes that make it even better.


The exception is the Albion which is terrible, but even for it, just being 2L is a nice help, since being 2L in Alpha 2 is sort of the rough equivalent of being 8L in a normal SRW.

Mother Vanguard is always amazing for me. Lacks a subpilot, but amazingly dodgy and is a great support attacker.

I wouldn't put too much money into it on the first playthrough, but if you have some spare cash lying around it's better to the Mother Vanguard than squad fodder.

In addition to the obvious, it's much more likely we'd get mechs actually appropriate to the characters - a Lion type of some sort for Neige, for example, or an actual sized up version of Jaki-Gun-Oh. It's not like they save anything on animations using mass produced units when they're going so far with animating their attacks like in the Exceed games.
