Some of the older VAs are retiring, getting less new work. Kazuki Yao, Akira Kamiya (Ryouma's VA from the older Getter Robo), Hiroya Ishimaru (Kouji's VA).

I guess that's one of the reasons we're getting the newer versions of the shows (Getter Armageddon, Shin Mazinger, Yamato 2199) in the newer games, so they don't have to rely on the old VAs forever.

Further thoughts

Crossbones, ZZ, and Hathaway's flash seems to imply that they will be fleshing out the shit out of the Unicorn story like what the Astray did to SEED in W.

I really wish that they would use the EVA TV to supplement the movies because the movie weapons are shit.

The non anime entries are a welcome surprise but it really irks me that Banpre is playing favorites so music., I know I know its a business and fan favorites sell, but still.

Too many variants, if squeeze in the Mazingers, FMP, Crossbones, EVA and the list looks emaciated. and more so if you consider unit only series.

It's not hard to get a decent translation if they pay somebody who actually knows English. I don't know why people keep claiming the SRW translations are going to be HK/Duwang level bad, when hk/dwang translations only exist since it's some Chinese who took a few english classes in highschool trying to shit out a translation as fast as possible for no money. If the caps of Bandai's asia region titles like SAO are applicable, it'll be a mostly readable translation with the word penetrate used wrong.

I am hype as fuck for Might Gaine in SRW, but like a lot of you I'm somewhat disappointed that the majority of the cast seems to be co-opted from the Z series, which is still fresh in our minds. I mean, Hathaway's Flash is a really interesting choice to premier here in SRWV, and the return of Crossbone is nice, but I wish they would have complemented them with something we haven't seen in a while like V Gundam, or use F91 to lead into the events of Crossbone. And it pains me that G Gundam is still relegated to what seems like a limbo of "Yeah, just stick God Gundam in it and we're good." I would have loved to see Shining Gundam and all the other mobile fighters done up in the style used here.

The inclusion of Yamato seems like it could be interesting, though. I think it'll be fun to have a relatively fresh stable of captains with Okita, Mitas, and Ruri in command (and Tessa depending on how involved the FMP storyline will be in V.)

Honestly I felt like that was PART of it, but for me it was a lack of the heroes going into outer solar system missions like with Alpha 3. A3, for all its short comings, did feel like a slowly yet surely building massive threat so big the heroes had to leave their homes and go to the enemy's doorstep. In both Z3 games they played defense until the last two stages in Hell chapter and the laser few in Heaven chapter. Most of the threatening aspects were all layered in dialogue with the stages not give the grandeur it deserved (which sadly is a disadvantage 2D maps have for scenarios like this).
