The glitch that lets you take space armor on ground missions is great. Fun versus mode too, nice animation style as well. Party Crashers best mission.

I played that. It was an admirable game, but I wouldn't go back to it. Way too simplistic. I know Valkyries can only shoot bullets and fire missiles, but they could have at least let us have different types of guns or be able to use Destroids or something

Piss easy way to cheese it, once you reach the point where the Cat Eye does its scan and you have to deal with infinite respawns. Just fly around the Cay Eye and pop a flare every few seconds. Since the enemies only use missiles to attack, and only a limited number can be on the field, you can just keep blocking their missiles.

Front Mission Gun Hazard was pretty good, go play that.

I went back to replay this after several years but got stuck.
Not on the escort or defense missions, my fly-and-gun skills are still nice and sharp because I mapped the Macross Ultimate/Trangle Frontier controlls to the Battlecry controls.

But those fucking sniper stages......
Back when this game was new and I played the fuck out of it I knew where to shoot from to headshot all of the Zentradi foot soldiers without being seen, but fuck if i can remember where any of them are anymore.

Two bits of advice:
Your men are better shots than you are. Don't try to engage the enemy directly yourself, you'll get better results from planning a route and senting the other guys on it.

DO NOT try to shoot the Gundam.
Don't even try to get a clear line of sight on him. You will get newtype'd before you can think about firing your weapon. Get a fix on his position and call in artillery strikes.

On second thought, try to kill him yourself, so that you will understand why he's known as the WHITE DEVIL.

You can directly engage on the first missions, I usually did them with 2 squads of 1 mech each.

The only tip I can give is: don't run around (strafe or whatever) and try to shoot at the same time. Stop first.

I don't recommend it. It's pretty short, it takes a ton of shots to down even a Zaku (except if you use the special shot) and good luck hitting anything that flies.

There's only 5 missions for the Federation and 3 for Zeon (the same ones as the Federation, you just fight on the other side). Encounters in Space has a very good mission mode, but everything on Journey to Jaburo feels very rushed.

Target in sight/crossfire is great and really underrated. Gundam battle operation is very similar, but online pvp, which is also pretty fun provided you can stumble through the japanese menus.
