Back in the 50s and 60s, Japan was today's China. In fact, China's shit is jumping up in quality, so China's more like 1970s Japan.

It's from Back to the Future 3 and that scene is set in 1955. Doc is native to that time so he's pretty surprised to learn that by 1985 Japan will make quality electronics.

Anyone else notice that some mecha anime use sound effects from BTTF? Mostly Dynamic Pro stuff like Shin Mazinger and Getter. Eyes lighting up make the Delorean engine start sound, and you can hear the time warping sound in this OP, when Getter-1 turns around
