***READ THE GUIDE***

For those new to gunpla/plamo or even just new to this thread; please read the guide. Please read it before asking questions as there is a chance it has already been answered there.
For those unfamiliar, "plamo" is a shortened form of "plastic model". If it's made of plastic, someone can probably help you here.
If you're new, you're gonna fuck up. Don't worry! If you're experienced, dont make the new people worry!
>Why won't anyone answer my question?
Try being specific, especially about your materials and process. Post pictures whenever possible; even if the kit/part looks bad, you are more likely to get help posting pictures.

Finished up my first gunpla, was pretty fun. Only real annoyances were sanding on the small parts and stickers on curved surfaces.
>>
>>14292272

You can use a Q-tip on that sticker on the shield to get it all down.

Have a stylus or something similar with a small rounded tip? I use the one that came with my old nintendo DS to smooth out the air pockets under stickers. Works really well with dry rub decals too, even with curved surfaces.

RG Wing or HG Wing, which is the better model?
>>
>>14292307
HGAC wing won't explode like a grenade.
The real grade looks really nice though.
>>
>>14292307
I would not advise getting a RG past the first Gundam. I also think Wing is for faggots and I don't want to help you... but get the HG.
>>
>>14292296
Not so much the sticker itself, it's how the glossy background reflects off of it. There's no real way to hide it 100%. But yeah I've tried smoothing the sticker a bit more, looks a better but not what I'd really want.

>>
>>14292307
Well they're different designs so it's technically up to preference...

The RG has higher detail, but the HG has good engineering as well. The HG is also less fragile, but you should be fine with the model as long as you don't have ham hands.
>>
How are the HGUC GM Command variants? Looking at one as my second build, not sure if buying an older kit will mean more work, less articulation etc.
>>
>>14292368

They don't require much work to look good and the articulation is decent.

The only real flaws are the seamlines right down the middle of the lower leg.
>>
>>14292095

>>
>>14292307
You cant go wrong on the RG. Don't let the trolls tell you the newer/later RGs are grenades when they're most certainly are not.
>>
Why don't people just glue the parts that pop off on the RGs?
>>
I'm going to paint a Kshatriya red. What should I do to make sure the color doesn't turn out shitty?
>>
>>14292540

Prime the pieces with something neutral like light gray.
>>
>>14292307
Well they're two different designs, so it really depends on which one you like more.

Speaking of the HGAC line, how is the HG Wing Zero? I got the HG Wing Gundam because I heard reasonably good things about it, but then I also heard that the Wing Zero HG on the other hand was not so good

RG Astray Red Frame's frontal shoulder plate.
>>
>>14292844
I thought it might be, are you gonna paint all the armor now so that it's consistent, or are you satisfied with it just being fixed?
>>
>>14292857
Imma make a royal purple + black repaint and give him a spear. Maybe add some more epoxy for stylized "ffxiv dragoon" spikes. If I decide against it down the line and just leave it as an Astray I'm still painting it, tho'.
>>
>>14292958

Not as exaggerated, but something like this. Spikes on the arms, shoulders, leg plate and armor boots. And a lance. Maybe even try to make this image's spear, but that's probably beyond my ability.
>>
>>14292972
I mean, if you can make the spikes just fine all you need is a stick from a runner and the ability to form your epoxy and sand it into shape and you should be fine.
>>
>>14292983
Maybe I'll try that tonight. Thanks for the vote of confidence, anon.
>>
>>14292587
The only problem are the hinges they used on the backpack. Honestly? They're an easy fix for anyone who doesn't just do straight builds.
>>
Here's that Gouf lineart I wanted to post last thread. It's a desert scheme. Does it feel suitably colored? I'm going to use Tamiya acrylics, already bought the colors. I also have XF-24 Dark Grey, but in the Tamiya paint color chart it comes out a strange greenish color, even though the bottle paint actually is grey.
>>
>>14292368
I only own the GM Cold Districts type which is a remold, but its alright. You really do get what you pay for, though. Atleast on the Cold Type, it has a hard time holding its gun and comes with a molded in a hand toothpick beam saber. The articulation is average, but I love the little guy.

That looks nice, I really like the desert colors. Are you thinking about giving it any kind of other weapons besides the stock Gouf weapons? And on the subject of Goufs, here's the lineart for a Gouf custom I was going to do. I'm intending on giving it the gladius from the koto sword set and get rid of the gun hand.
>>
>>14293047
I think it needs more brown, probably on the skirts.
>>
Any1 here knows the best SD gundam kits? I'm in the mood of buying some.
>>
>>14293122
Thanks. I will look at my weaponry and decide as I go.
>>14293122
Yeah, that's a slipup on my part since skirts do count as outer armor and all outer armor was brown for this. Whoops. I agree, it looks better.
>>
>>14293150
SD BB Nu/Sazabi, Xi Gundam, and several of the Sangokuden (Chinese generals) are very nicely done. Especially the main characters like Ryubi and Cao Cao, but the CHinese generals ones require plenty of paint and maskign to look good, they're nice templates though.
>>
>>14292997
>They're an easy fix
I'm pretty new, so could you give me a rundown of what the fix would entail?
>>
>>14293210
Much better, take a look at making the forearms brown as well.
>>
>>14293210
Seconding the brown forearms suggestion - it looks like he has fingerless gloves on as it is now
>>
>>14293210
A second thing as well is to see which foot color you want, the tan looks fine, but always worth experimenting to dial it in.
>>
Newer guy here, just finished building my 2nd MG and trying to figure out what one to buy next.

How's the quality on the MG Unicorn, or Delta Plus? I think I once heard that the Delta Plus has major weight issues, but not sure if that's correct.

Torn between getting the 00 Qan[T], Turn A, Crossbone, Unicorn, Delta Plus or maybe the Hi Nu.

Personally, I like #2. I like the lighter feet with the hand being half brown.
>>
>>14293378
I don't know if I'm retarded but I can't see the difference between 1 and 3. Either way I think they're better than 2, although the light brown feet does give it more of a gladiatorial sandal vibe.

Also hey, somebody who actually recognises the concept of upper/lower surfaces rather than just blindly hamfisting the bucket fill.

Man, as impractical as Mobile Suits are, or unrealistic, using a scythe is just too much more me. Most other things I can handle, but scythes I can't.
Giant anime scythes as weapons in general are one of my pet peeves, along with thrown boomerang-like weapons. It's just silly. I'd take a katana over any of those every time.

Think I'll go with number 1, and if I don't like the end result I can always strip it. I ordered an ultrasonic cleaner off Amazon, heard great things about them being used for airbrush and model paint/primer removal. Just assembled a painting/priming stand.
>>
>>14293514
you're gonna wanna condense that, the goal is to have the space be snug so that the cardboard can't move around when it's sprayed by the airbrush
>>
>>14293438
I have never understood that. Like, OK I kinda get it for the 2 bladed version, but the 1 blade version? Why? Scissors implies to hinged blades that slice, there's only 1 cutting blade on those things.
>>
>>14293520
They're taped, but I can shove in more pieces of cardboard for stability.
>>
>>14293525
Tape will hold the bottom, but the top can still sway. If you test and it holds that's great, but the last thing you need is to ruin a paint coat and waste time and money because your stand moved.

you have to use a translator to find the exact colors if using mr hobby or use a guide like mech9 and mix the paints like 90% aircraft grey and 10% black to get the color for example.
Or just use the little color swath as a reference and try to match it as close as you can.

Ohh. The way I do it is use a dropper or a paint stirrer spoon. Put 10 drops of paint total so if it says 90 grey 10 black
9 drops grey and 1 black. of course that might not be enough paint for the number of parts you have so you can do more if you want. double tripple etc.. or it might be too much if its just one tiny part but if you have a spare bottle you can save the left over.

I knew someone would say this.

And I know that, believe me, but the way scythes are used in anime are beyond ridiculous. Not only are they often used by girls, they're usually 3 - 4 times their height with fuckhueg blades, and they're spun around like a gymnastics baton.

It doesn't make a show unwatchable, but I really don't like it and I wish they'd stop.

I saw this bad boy at Barnes and Noble and decided to get back into Gunpla. He came out pretty good I think, considering I had to make do with a toenail clipper.

I gotta ask though, are all modern HGs this fragile and finicky? Sure, he looks cool, but posing him is a bitch, the weapons and armor pieces keep falling off, and even the feet come off all the time since they're only held in place by friction with a polycap. I intended to get the Kamiki Burning and Lighting Zeta next, but if they're as delicate as the Rinascita I think I might have to get some other Gundams since I like playing with them and not just displaying them.

So with that in mind, what are some solid, study high grades from recent years? Are the revive kits good in this regard?

This little toad cleans up pretty nice with a bit of panel lining. I'm surprised by how much poseability it has considering how fat the armour bits are, and how well it can stand with the weight of that hammer.

The Exia is a really solid kit, and the only complaint I have for it is the range of motion for the legs, because of how the front skirt is you can only get them to go so far forward.
They fucked up the chrome on the GN Sword so that it's on the blade edge, and it's on the edge that would be displayed in front too.

If you can though, pick up the FPM kit for Exia R3 through either ebay or Samueldecal. It's a really solid cover kit, molded in color. It also gives you the GN Sword II in all its green bladed goodness, the GN long rifle, new shoulders, new knees, and covers for the top of the legs.

If you decide against it, that's fine- but I just got mine and built it on and even though it's not perfect it's a really nice addon that I think most people will enjoy.
On that note though, be EXTRA careful not to fuck up the upper arms. That is not a nub, that is a connector spot for the stupid clear ribbon piece and if it gets too short it will use the ribbon to FLING the connector out into the void.
Personal experience speaking. It's part of what motivated me to get the R3 conversion in the first place.

Schwalbe is the "most different", Ritter/Carta comes with the parts to make stock graze in that blue-green color, Ryusei-Go comes with the parts to make Kai as well.
So what I'm saying is you should basically never just settle for vanilla unless you want the base "military green" version.
I have Ritter, Ryusei-go, and Schwalbe specifically because I didn't want to think that hard about it. Stock graze really doesn't have a lot to go for it in my opinion but if I really had to choose a green one it'd be Graze Kai no contest.

Well all the basic Graze sets use almost identical parts except for one. Even the Graze Ein kit still uses the standard graze torso in its consturction.

They're all fairly sturdy and have a good degree of poseability, so it all comes down to personal preference when choosing which design to buy. If you're gonna buy the standard graze you should get the 1/100 scale commander, its a similar quality to the 1/100 Barbatos and you can swap parts to turn the Barbatos into its hackjob repair form.

Rather than trying to rip them off other kits, it's actually probably easier (and cheaper) to scratchbuild them from pla-plate since they're just tiny boxes with squares for the missile covers.

If you bought a whole kit for them, you'd pay more if you just wanted the missile racks. You'd get a whole kit out of it, but then it'd be incomplete and good for only mainly being spare kitbash bits.

If I were you, I'd recommend getting some tiny wooden square blocks at a hardware store, then gluing pla-plate over that so that you don't have to make a literal (empty) box while trying to keep the thing even. After gluing the main box sides together to the wood, you can just fill in the edges with putty or PS glue to melt them together, then sand smooth.
Then you just need three tiny squares to make the missile covers per missile rack.
>>
>>14297250
Another thing to consider are Kotobukiya's option sets.

They sell a missile launcher option set that might fit what you need. I remember buying a pair I was going to mount to the back of a GM Command some time ago in a neighborhood far far away.

Also looks like for the leg pieces you could pull some off the Zaku Amazing.

But the Booster is on backorder at HLJ. But I'm sure if you looked you could find it on Amazon or someplace.

>whats the point of buying a trooper mecha if you're not going to jazz it up with decals and custom camo
What's the point of having grunts if you're rolling in aces and sekrit squirrel operdators?

As grunt units, much of their charm is in having duplicates so you can arrange a full fire team of just normal nameless schmucks fighting other fuckers on the opposing side.
>>
>>14297278
Mind, Kotobukiya's stuff is pretty large for an HG kit normally, and way too small for any MG or larger. The older ones conversely are oddly tiny.

Scale will be weird (but not impossible, if you like the bigger-than-practical aesthetic).
>>
>>14297271
Thanks for the suggestion, anon. You're making scratchbuilding sound a lot simpler than I originally thought it to be.

>>14297278
I have a Zaku Amazing, so it's something to consider. I kind of want to stick with the 'boxy rectangle' look of the missiles though, I just like it better. The Kotobukiya missiles look pretty cool though, I might think of a way to stick that in there somehow. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

just buy the two RG kits, you can make pretty much the same thing without the extra batteries (not part of the original Perfect Strike layout anyway) and its a much better kit than the ancient 2002 HG the Perfect set uses.

I'm surprised they're doing that for the 1/100 scale kit? They've already released several option kits at the 1/144 scale, so it's odd that a 1/100 gets one rather than keeping in step with the others.

Hell, if they were releasing it in 1/144, I'd buy my first Graze and more (I cannot, at all, get over the silly high heel feet; for Zeta-era MS it's fine since it matches it's own era's aesthetic, but not for anything else).

Hoping we'll get it during the 2nd season's run, along with all the other MS that didn't get a kit. Pic related.

One thing I wished the did more of was elaborate on the whole inner frame shtick they were pushing for the HG line. Having the Hyakuri and Hyakuren share the same inner frame along with models for the Rouei and Triana and the Rodi variants would have been perfect.

Ok guys, I need you to lay some truth on me.
I bought a G-self kit when it first became available, because I liked the series.
I put off the build till some days ago dreading I would get buyers remorse.
After building it I absolutely loved it's mobility and poseability, the back pack is the fucking best too.
Now everyone I ever read talking about the HG g-self says is a fucking shit kit.
Why is this?
What exactly does it make it so bad?

>>
>>14298337
Well whatever they put in S2 is gonna job horribly.
>>
>>14298312

You have to do a lot of painting and some filework to bring out the best in it, because the way the design is, there is the need for a lot of stickers, but some of those stickers are missing(shoulder vents) while others look like shit no matter what(head sticker). The articulation is less than what people are used to now, because of the armor design which lets you bend at 90 degree angles only.

It's not bad, it's just fucked by its design.

Ahh, well, I hope you're able to get that fixed soon.
I hope this makes you proud, senpai. I'm pretty nervous because I'm afraid of cutting too much (which I think I already did), and I don't really know what I'm doing because I planned this poorly but oh well, we'll see.
I also just now realized that there are different kinds of putties for different uses, so I'm not even sure if I have the right type of putty to smoothly blend the parts together. I guess this wasn't as easy as I thought it would be haha.

How much you cut only really matters proportionally to how much work you're putting in. Any open space can be fixed with a mix of pla-plate and putty, and that'll be invisible after the paint anyway.

At least you have putty to make it look smooth. When I broke part of the crotch bump I had to fit plaplate in the gap and superglue it, probably why the paint on the skirt looked so wonky. You're doing good, although the crotch piece looks a bit too angled. One thing though, I disapprove of the Zeta Mcdonalds cannon.
>>
>>14298805
Guess I'll need to order some more putty. Uh, epoxy putty is the right type of putty to use for this, right?

>>14298807
Haha yeah, superglue doesn't seem like a very good choice. Yours still looks pretty good though.
Thanks, senpai. I trimmed it a little more, now I can see even more how badly and uneven it looks. Hopefully sanding it down and some of that putty will fix that.
Also, I really dislike the Zeta colors too, but it was all they had in stock when I was making my orderes on hlj. I'm just enduring it until I can paint over that ugly red.

Hello, so I'm somewhat new to gunpla. I've been digging the designs for Iron-Blooded Orphans series. Specifically I've been interested in getting into kitbashing and wanted to know if I'd be better off with going with 1/100 or 1/144 for swapping out gear and armor parts. the 1/44 have a lot of models but the detail on the 1/100 is cool. Additionally any suggestions on what kit to start with? I've been eying the Gusion but any other kit suggestions as well? I have experience with building kits, mostly sd so I'm fine with normal stuff.

>>14299246
Please don't post his channel here.
If you're just going to mock someone, and posting this on 4chan especially in a spoiler tag is akin to an invitation to doing so, do it elsewhere.
Mocking him, and I don't care what you think about him personally, is just in poor taste. Not because he seems to have a disability of sorts, but because there's literally no reason to do so. I don't want to turn this into a safe space like on leddit or something, but this shouldn't be /v/ or /b/ either. He's just an old man who seems to really like gunpla and Gundam, who does relatively commentary free unboxings of what seems to be largely P-Bandai kits to a rather small audience, with other sorts videos mixed in here and there.
If you don't like it just don't watch it, don't keep posting this with the unwritten implication of "Hahaha, /gpg/, look at him and laugh!".

Just leave him alone is what I want to say, and try to keep anything related to Youtube gunpla builders and collectors out of these threads, please.
The last one with Prime92 spam was annoying, and if we get to the point of discussing Youtubers who discuss gunpla, instead of actually discussing it amongst ourselves, we're going to end up a lost cause. Or at least, worst off than we are now.

>>
So, I don't feel like digging up the right Zeta episodes to check. Which numbered Mk II did Emma pilot? Working on the Titans Mk II, and I'd like to give it the right number.
>>
>>14299421
from what I hear the various 144 Graze kits are all baller as fuck, with completely interchangeable parts. Sturdy, good poseability, good detail and simple enough to build for someone new to gunpla but still fun to assemble. Would recommend for your purposes.

I just finished building the 144 Gusion yesterday, and its about the same quality as the 144 Grazes. The fat armour is a little restricting and the head can only really move side to side by any decent amount, but it will still get through most poses. The wrists on mine where a little to limp to hold the huge ass hammer one handed, even all the way at the neck but that could be a problem with my kit and not in general. There is surprisingly not issue with balance from the wieght of hammer however, I guess thats credit to fatness of the mechs
>>
>>14299467
Emma piloted Unit 01 to deliver Bask's ultimatum to the Argama crew, but after the AEUG made off with all three Gundams only Unit 03 was kept for active duty. Units 01 and 02 were sent to Anaheim to be deconstructed and studied.

Okay, so I read the guide, and I'm on the part about respirator safety.

Seems straightforward. Except it seems weird that the type of filter to use is very specific.

3M does have other types of filter with the OV/P100 designation, with different stripe colors and model numbers. Any reason NOT to use these other filters? The only difference I see is that they have a wider range of protection (such as acids/mercury/etc. in addition to organic vapors and particulars), and they're more expensive.

Other than increased cost, are there ANY reasons at all to not use them? I'm mainly asking out of curiosity, plus the redundant knowledge wouldn't hurt.

That aside, I do have a legitimate question: Is there a cheaper way to do a fit-test at home?
The industrial kits are way too expensive and even though you get hundreds of uses out of one single kit, I would much rather not go down that route if it can be helped.

>>14299576
You shouldn't need to fit-test beforehand unless you're going with a full-face respirator, which is kind of overkill for our purposes. The 3M at the top in medium is basically one size fits-all for adults. Though to be safe you could buy from your local hardware store in case you need to return for a different size.

>>14299668
It's also quite possible that I'm just paranoid as fuck.

I used to work in an industry where they would do fit-tests for less serious things. I wouldn't do any painting, but I often had to wear a respirator for things including but not limited to oxidized aluminum grounds, fiberglass, etc. Last I checked, paint particles are finer than these things.

As a matter of fact, I wore that same 3M respirator, albeit with a different type of filter. Still have it today. I'm looking to upgrade the filter, shave my beard, and *maybe* fit-test, unless I can be convinced that it's unnecessary.
>>
>>14299707
I forgot that beards are actually an issue for some people. If you're fond of it then full face might be the way to go. Also if you ever plan on working with resin kits, the investment might be worth it.

I've only used the Creos markers for panel lining, but if you have unsteady hands it seems like learning how to do a panel line wash is the way to go, since capillary action does all the work for you.

Alright, so the local auto store is having a sale, and these are going for $72.

>>
>>14300505
To be fair it's a compressor, I've never seen or heared anything like that blow up from normal use unless someone used it wrong. Even "cheap" stuff should still not blow up.

But to be fair I'm basing that on my experience with European materials (generally German made and those guys know how to build something to last unless its a 1000 year reich) and I have no idea how the build quality of cheaper made products is where you are from.
>>
>>14300484
obligatory thin your paints post
>>
>>14300509
In theory there shouldn't be any problem. A compressor is a compressor, right?

It's just that I've heard horror stories about Spear & Jackson compressors (in Australia, they're called Project Air) failing after only a few weeks, and Blackridge seems to be about the same level of quality.

Out of curiosity, why do you want the 2HP version? Sure, it's only $30 more but it's so much bulkier. Is an 8 liter tank too small? I wouldn't know, because the compressor I've been using at work is fucking huge.
>>
>>14300513
It's still to thick on the black and white? Or do you mean the red?

When I was thinning the paint itself I thought I actually had the prefect mix.

>>
>>14300518
Well I wouldn't have a clue, have never used a compressor before. If the 1.0HP will work fine then I can grab that, I was just trying to be modest and not go for the cheapest option in case like you mentioned the quality isn't very good.

The higher priced ones seem more suited to power tools but like I said I wouldn't have a clue which is why I'm hoping somebody knows.

All I have close by is a Bunnings and Super Cheap Auto, SCA is where I found those compressors because the Bunnings ones seem to be heavy duty.

>>
>>14300535
It's pretty hard to find a compressor that WON'T run an airbrush. The smaller one should be just fine.

Have you looked at the Sparmax Arism Mini?
http://www.sparmaxair.com/product_detail.php?id=1&r=55

The reviews seem a bit better, and it goes for $180.
>>
>>14300557
Seems theres nowhere nearby that stocks that Sparmax Arism Mini, might just go with the smaller Blackridge. If anything goes wrong the store is pretty close.

But I'll keep looking around for that one.

Cheers for your help.
>>
What do you guys use for sanding? I've been using the Tamiya brand sanding paper but it seems to wear out way too fast. I'm wondering if other brands last longer.
>>
>>14300596
I use both Tamiya and Mr. Hobby, and I can't say I've noticed any difference in how long they last.
>>
A few people recently have been commenting on how all of out 'good' trips have left and we don't really have any quality builders left anymore. Why don't we do a good old fashioned build off to motivate people to start stepping up their game then. I'm not sure about a prize or anything or even how that would work but we should really work on improving and really start motivating everyone to post WiP's, ask questions about techniques and most importantly get our userbase away from just snapfitting and starting to look at gunpla as more than just action figures.

>>14300535
An air regulator might help you control it your pressure coming out, no matter the horsepower but your best bet is from ebay mate, I picked one of those compressors with a 3L tank (8 is way overkill and is a waste of space. I think my compressor was in the realm of $60 AUD with free delivery off ebay.

>>14300596
I just buy sandpaper from the local hardware store, its about a buck a sheet and it works fine. I've used name-brand sticks and I can't say I've noticed any difference apart from price.
>>
>>14300596
I buy sandpaper from the auto parts store, and use it wet and clean it off often and it lasts a lot longer
I also have bits stuck on popsicle sticks and sponges for flat and curved stuff

Man, I really liked the GM Custom until the end, until the hands.
The beam saber is loose as fuck in the hand and the rifle holding hand is floppy and limp as hell. The hand with the articulated wrist is fine but I doubt I'll be using it that much since I dislike the gun holding hand.

Otherwise it's a fantastic kit barring one or two coloration issues and the fucking crotch sticker, I really really like the design.

Hey /gpg/, Finally able to get back into building Gunpla, after having my crazy landlord call the cops on me because she was mad I was moving out. Lucky for me, my parents are willing to to take me in till move in day, but I still need to grab a bunch of my stuff which includes some of the Gunpla I was in the middle of building.

I did manage to bring over some of my backlog, and decided to start building my HGUC Sazabi, since I ordered the MG Ver Ka to go with my Nu Ver Ka.

Been trying out a grey Gundam Marker for panel lines, what do you guys think? Still need to paint the yellow bits, but I'll probably wait on that until I finish moving into my new place, since I don't know where I packed all my paints. Just finished the weapons and the waist, gonna start work on the leggies and then move my way up. I really love the design of it!

It's a long story, but pretty much she was getting all pissy that I was moving out, and wanted the full month's rents, and didn't want to prorate it. It eventually turned into a "give me my keys back, you are trespassing in my house." and I was scared I'd lose all my stuff that was there Including my precious, precious Gunpla! But it all worked itself out, and she was in the wrong for threatening me.

At least I got out with most of my stuff, and I'll be picking up the rest throughout the weekend. I don't have to worry about her throwing away anything, since the cops said, legally, she can't touch any of my stuff. All that's left over there were my Nu Ver Ka, RG Char Zaku, Z'Gok, RX-78, HG Graze Ein, and 2 Barbatoses I got the weapon kit 1 for, since I was planning to build and paint the foldable cannons for them.

Anyways, here's a better picture of the panel lines I did on the rear underskirt. I really like how it came out!

I've built a dozen or so HG, and I've got the MG Zeta 2.0 on my backlog, but I'm hesitant to start on it lest I mess up. I think I'm going to get simpler/cheaper MGs one of these days to get some practice on, probably the AGE-1 Normal or the Gundam X. Maybe one of the aquatic Zeon suits

Looks a'ight.

You're gonna have to weather it quite a bit around the edges to give it that "Megas" feel.

Also you gotta make a "Grimerdge", or whatever, in Evil-Coop's Not-Sazabi colors. As well as a Graze Kai or Graze Riter in Original Megas colors.
>>
>>14302975
Not-Sazabi Megas would be better as an actual Sazabi, but Grimgerde does work for the graze theme, similar head shape. Definitely Kai for OG megas.

The crinkling plastic sounds make me feel so weird

Well I went and pulled the trigger on the ARISM (not the mini) from a store nearby that sells it with an airbrush kit because it's small enough and quiet enough to fit on my desk.

I'm not sure if it's how the guide is worded, but really there's nothing to be afraid of in MGs. Remember, even those are still children's models, made for snap fitting. MGs are not recommended for first kit because you might end up not liking the hobby, and that's more wasted money.

Yea, the charging forward pose isnt exactly stable. I tried to lean it forward as much as I could but I think it was pushed back a little during the moving. I think im going to add supports from now on.

also the orientation of the base is wrong because I was too nervous at the time

See this little wrist part? Pop it off the polycap it slides onto when you plug the hands in or unplug them, it really likes to crack otherwise

Which kit would best be a base for Megaman X?
>>

AGE grunt. Adelle or shalldoll rogue.

The red was hand painted, thinking back I probably should have just masked it or used enamels to do it by hand.

I just finished snapping this together and it's a pretty neat kit. Comes with effect parts for the mega buster and waterslides for the eyes. Should make a good base for the X.

I own a GM Command Space Type, pretty easy build and quick one at that. I'm a beginner, but I didn't have too many problems, the only issue I have is for whatever reason, they didn't color in a part of the beam gun and the beam saber itself is white. Fortunately, you can just steal some other HG's spare beam saber to fix that.
