I remember making a stat sheet for Zearth.
The general idea was that you could deploy it freely; however, the moment you decide to move it or attack, the pilot's fate would be sealed and they would die (and be replaced) after the stage.
The number of dead children would go to unlocking Zearth's new attacks (starts with regular laser, losing the first kid unlocks Zearth a "kick arm at enemy" attack, losing two more kids one unlock another attack and so-on). The second to last pilot, Jun, would unlock an infinite range MAP laser and finisher. After that, it'd vanish.
The pilots would have a set level that scales with the average of your top 5 pilots, while Dung Beetle would always be a subpilot.

If not, I was going to look for Chirico, but there are alot of characters I would like to find sprites of. Like Simon, Sousake, Ryouma, and Noriko.

They did really well with the sprites in Z3. Watching a video with Beck and Roger made me realize that. Even minor people like Kan-Yu have good ones.

Well I'm getting to the end of this second 64 ladies run. I still have a handful of stages to go, but this team is probably final as this route doesn't have any super late arrivals like Chara in the other one. Well I CAN still recruit Quess, but it's literally only for the last stage, so I probably won't bother. If I do get her, it'll be just to give her Jagd Doga to Puru 2. I stuck her in the Apsalus since I don't really have anything better and the game doesn't let me have another Qubeley, and I didn't want to paint the one I get red this time.

Are you having trouble getting through the Mid-game like I am?
- This is a slow part of the plot, where I need to get stuff done before, I move to the war, and give the player the best super's in the game.
During that war I start the VOTOMS and Rasen Shounentan finale.

How is your original plot going?
- I'm making mine up as I go along. While I do have a plan, I have to keep rewriting it after every chapter.

Do you have any boring series, that you don't link rewatching an episode and then having to write about it.
- Zoids Fuzor's, I only done 3 episode's and over I'm 20 stages in. I think it's because I don't want to get to Matt.

The only problem I'm having is with route-splits. One split is always looking fine, while the other looks sorta boring. In the Fafner Exodus Expedition route split, stages 17-21 (split goes from 17-22) feature the entirety of the Ral plot from Mobile Suit Gundam's movie.

I haven't really had any trouble with the mid game portions. Most of it is packed in with plot from other series so I don't really have this issue too much.

Pretty well, all things considered. Have it tied down to an MC, her mech, and the OG villains who tie the plot altogether. Haven't worked on individuals in the OG Villain camp yet but its a work in progress so I'll get to them.

Gunparade March. It fit into what I was making but my god is that show dull. Also Alternative, but that's for entirely different reasons. Mainly because it's not something I can sit down and marathon with my current setup anymore.

Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventures.

Every unit but ZINV has a 'pilot synch ratio' equivalent that mostly starts around the fifties and maxes out at the start of the scenario at 100, getting boosts from plot events and leveling up (the intention by the endgame is to have everyone at or near 100). But where Evas use that for their AT Fields, this version is a modifier that goes into your mobility and a Double Image type, by the end of the game the Core Robots are all fully capable of pulling their brand of after-image bullshit in both mobility and after-image.

ZINV has the same deal, but its bullshit is how little pull reality has on it at the moment, so it gets even better bonuses of the things. And Kazuki is maxed at 200 permanently after a plot event (even if you somehow didn't get him there with his level boosts and prior plot events because he starts above 100, since that's sort of his thing.)

Technically only on stage 17, the route split merge stage. Literally I have the plot completed, I just have to watch through all of Mazinger and codify what plot parts go where. It's looking like this might make ~50 stages front to back, but it's too soon to tell, and with the route splits it's going to be a lot more content (only two potential ways to go in at any point though.)

No. Mostly because my midgame is running through the OYW while burning plot points of other series (so like you make a pitstop in Europe soon after Odessa Day on your way to Jaburo and you handle the Lorelai situation there, and then after Jaburo you have to bail out Heroman from MR-1 only to find Texas Mack beat you to it).

Done. Designing the original enemies is a right fucking pain in the ass though, especially since they're probably going to look like bargain bin DAMONs.

On the plus side, I did eventually come up with a plot reason for the Huckebein to have access to Black Hole tech, so that's a definite plus! That was just a few days ago too, the most recent edit to the plot.

I have a greater problem with forgetting how the series I just watched a month ago went and having to go back to check up on it. And the fact that watching through Mazinger Z is difficult because it's so goddamn long.

(as an aside, if you're using Toei Mazinger Z, be ready for that. Any other show that's more than 52 episodes as well, like Dougram or LoGH or the original Sentai show or whatever. You'll need to sit down at multiple points and watch through the thing.)

OG2 does it much too but it's much less noticeable because the battle layout is designed differently for the map, the map where Arado is captured is the same map where you get the WildWurger L(possibly done intentionally) and the first map of the game is I think reused for the map where Excellen Ryusei and the Octo Squad have to defend the Shirogane. Not to mention how much Izu Base is used as map(at least 4 times)

The thing you want to do is rebattle the randoms a bunch to try and get somewhat passable units. Hopefully some of them will have barriers, as barriers are good things to have. One of the starting squads is like Hime Brain + Aestivalis Custom Ryoko, that's pretty good, though I think Dancouga has use in the endgame so yours isn't bad either.

On another note, I'm trying to have something similar to the SEED animation happen, as in at 130 will an animation play centered on the mech.

The pilot have a skill that activate at 130 and also change the portrait, however even after trying to use the (I believe) animation used for the SEED effect and making sure the character used is the corresponding pilot, it doesn't work.

The Mazingers are great to deal lots of damage, since they do have Mazin Power. Also, Shin Getter 2 is basically untouchable once it gets both of his bunshin skills activated, and the Ganador can dodge and it does have bunshin too.

As for the reals, use them in pairs. 2 Jagd Dogas, or 2 V Gundams or Z and ZZ means they get a really powerful combo attack. Also, the HWS Nu, the Hi-Nu and the Nightingale are fantastic.

Only upgrade the mechs you're gonna use the most, also do every puzzle stage and kill every boss with bless or luck.

And finally, yes, you're supposed to take your time, but it's not a big deal. Also be sure to abuse the hell out of the Sound Force songs once you get them.

Fate just sounds like they turned the tempo down to about 85% of the original (which is about right when you do that to some of the other songs in J's ost).

It wouldn't be a bad idea, but for one, the spirit pools for them were always samey, for two, who do you make the main pilot in that situation, and for three, I think they made it that way in preparation of things like Thunder Baron and Guard Diver in future SRWs (so it won't seem out of nowhere when they're precombined), and there's no way to make four or five pilot Braves not broken. (See also: King J-Der being BROKEN AS SHIT in BX.)

King J-Der is a culmination of like eight or nine things that would make any unit good - Regenerating Armor, the Brave ability, 2L size, three pilots, great stats, good pilot stats, good Attack Power, that one Attack it has as the J-Ark being really fucking good, one of the strongest finishers in the game, a pretty good second strongest attack, good P options - that makes it broken, but having a bunch of pilots to pull from in concert with Brave could make it good all by itself.

A lot of it is simple, though a good chunk of it is still pretty tricky to edit, depending on what you're going to do. The fact that SRC Dungeon is probably oddly-built in comparison to a regular SRC scenario would be doesn't help.

Probably be a lot easier if more sections of the code allowed for a simple command where you could change how something is displayed without changing the core of the programming. Then stuff like the upgrade menu and the like would be easier to translate.

I wouldn't try to make a new game out of it, either, I just wanted to translate what I could out of it. Which amounted about to robot names and item/spirit descriptions, plus the starter menu. Most everything else was trickier that way.

All the stuff you figured out was fairly simple, though extra modifications to the attack, like making a ranged attack melee, picking the kind of MAP attack it is, making it a drain/stun/debuff thing are also a touch trickier, I'd bet.

When I cheat I just max my money, kills, and level, and it works well enough.
